The Wheel is Forever
haha, this is getting hilarious!

looks like you missed the later part of the paragraph, it answers your yeah and whatever

"Every tournament in any sport has core set of values. These core values identify with the majority and stand for what a tournament stands for. There may be a section that will follow it for some different reason but that doesn't change anything

And if you think that a tournament that has introduced Indian domestic players to international style of cricket from coaching to the opportunity to play with players of different countries is only a hit and giggle then what would Ranji trophy be, a miss and cry?"

the fact is in what IPL is suppose to be [it's not defined by me] and not what ppl like you try to portray to suit their needs!
Irrelevant. Not everyone has to agree that the implementation reaches those goals. Ranji trophy, for me, is not hit and miss because it is the closest form to the only type of cricket I care about.

I don't have any problems with you having that kind of opinion but don't expect others to respect it esp when we see you wasting your time on things that you think are shallow! .... you can try the childish "who says", "my wish blah blah" to support your opinion but as I said don't expect others to take you seriously!
That's up to the other people - let them decide for themselves, it's fine by me.

Whatever it takes!!!
I think that it is important to understand that Karthik has still been developing as a player. He was never an opener and never should have been tried as one at test level. To succeed at that would have been an amazing feat from a young player. Karthik is a useful cricketer if played correctly.

Honestbharani to comment...
lol...

He has immense talent, it would be stupid to deny that. But he needs to work out what his best way of playing is and what his best position is. I feel he has been trying too hard to be the ultimate player, the guy who can perform from anywhere when in reality there is no such thing. Even the best players have positions where they feel most comfortable... He, IMO, is a middle order bat who can bat at 6/7 and keep wickets... He has great natural talent in both these departments but he needs to keep working on it. AS we have seen, his keeping has been pathetic since he tried to convert himself into a batsman.

He should just forget about Dhoni and national chances and concentrate on becoming the best wicket-keeper/batsman he can be... I do think his time will come in a couple of years when Dhoni might look to become a pure batsman....

^^ What about the opning role think he has given up on that ????

His problem is that basically for all the role he has tried there is someone better around

Ret seems to be forgetting the point of the tournament in the eyes of the organisers is to make money.

Actually the initial purpose of the tournament was as a direct response to the ICL. I don't think they ever imagined it would be this profitable! I think Modi gets a bit too much praise for being the genuis behind it - don't get me wrong it's been this successful because he's been so good at running it and deserves praise for that, but at the same time it wasn't his brainchild either. But yeah, now it's profits, expansion and power all the way.

He has decent technique and can do well as an opener but as I said, his best option is as a 6/7 batsman and wicket keeper... I feel Dhoni will become a batsman in a few years and then would be DK's chance.. We all saw how Haddin waited out the Gilly era and he has been a reasonably successful player since then for them...

The legend of Dhoni continues with the masterstroke to bowl Raina when Yuvraj & Mahela looked dangerous.

T20 is so bloody unpredictable at times.
Love it. A huge part of it is to do with unpredictability and that a team is only a partnership or 2-3 wickets away from smelling victory. Teams are never out of the contest in much more games than in the 50-50 version.

Chennia v Punjab was awesome to watch (I managed to catch a few overs). Punjab were really giving it the chase with Mahela and Yuvraj striking sixes and fours. I almost felt sorry for them that they couldn't make it in the end as they gave Chennai, one of the tougher teams in the competition, such a good fight.

I am really enjoying Rajasthan. I always backed them to reach the semis and they are fighting hard for the spot. With limited resources, if they manage to even reach the semis, it will be like winning the tournament for them. Any praise for Warne, as always is less. Always backing his players and taking out of the box decisions. I saw him in a Hampshire game and the opponents required 6-7 runs per over with 10-12 left in the game. He choked them by offering no singles. A few overs on, the opponents had lost wickets, the run rate had reached 12-14 and were out of the picture. Great captain.

Albertus failed to make and impact with the bat again.
The semi-finals might go to % with the closeness of many of the teams. So it will be important to avoid massive losses.

Albertus failed to fire with the bat again.
Should be another good match tonight with two exciting teams. Time for Albertus to be dropped.
Albertus failed yet again, he must be ready to be dropped alongside his Proteas skipper.

Good win for Chennai.

Will be interesting to see if Albertus finally fires with the bat today.
Yeah, we get the point..

Daredevils vs the Chokers

MI have no one to blame for the position they are in. They have shown that they can win when one or two of their players has/have an exceptional game. They will be hoping that at least two of Jayasuriya, Tendulkar and Malinga has an exceptional game and get supported by Bravo, Duminy and the bowlers

DD on the other hand will be looking to put MI under pressure and wait for them to crack
