I had a couple of weeks of vertigo after getting knocked on the head by someone who hit a six from the adjacent field 12 years ago. Was pretty ****ed, everytime I'd stand/sit up or turn my head abruptly my vision would literally start spinning.

Whatever it takes!!!
Short could probably open even in the last ODI and that would mean a very like for like thing as well in terms of playing style, being a left hander and all that.

I think I mentioned yesterday Labu might be in consideration for opening. And lo behold, he puts his hand up to open the batting. Apparently, I read his mind. :p

Yeah Labu has opened a fair bit in domestic one dayers I believe. #3 would be his preferred spot but opening definitely suits him more than batting #4 in this format.

Giving him experience batting in the spot he's actually going to be in long-term is probably more important than picking the "best" team though.

I'd pick Short if I was allowed to (nfi how the covid rules work for someone just added to the squad).

As long as they are in the bubble, I am guessing they can play. India can play Ashwin and Pujara if they want the next game, I think. So even though squads are named, you can basically pick anyone from the larger squad.

Everyone wants to open in ODIs haha, it's the prime position. Out of the Aussies I think Smith is probably the only one who wouldn't necessarily jump at the chance (even then he still might). From what I recall even Maxwell was always keen to open in white-ball cricket, despite how suited he seems to be for late overs hitting.

It would definitely suit Labu though, probably more than most.

If warner is out, wouldn't mind seeing

1.Finch
2.Carey
3.Smith
4.Marnus
5.Green
6.Moiso
7.Maxwell

As the batting order.
They haven't got the guts to change the order to accommodate a newbie.
Like for like is all they know.
Wade for Warner bet your house!.
