Also, Stoinis batting at No. 8.. a guy with an ODI batting average of 62.88 batting below Ashwin, AD Nath (who?), Manoj Tiwary and Axar Patel?

Well he really showed them with that blistering 11 (16)

To be fair to vcs, I too have thought Stoinis should have been batting higher when he was playing at 6 and in form, let alone be slipped down to 8.

I'm not convinced it was a great innings by Rahul, though. Chasing 158 RRR 7.9 and he opens, after 10 overs he was 39(37) RRR 10.4, after 15 overs 54(52) RRR 13.4, after 17 overs 60(57) RRR 19.

Rahul has been magnificent this season. I've watched him play some blinding innings of style and domination of the bowlers. I'm not sure this innings would make the top 3. Sure he scores 35 off his next 13 balls, but that's not even keeping up with the RRR from the 17th over.

We need a cricket saying to counter the victorious "took it deep" saying, I am favouring "took it too deep and drowned in the RRR but in this case made big splashes at the end".

Also opened the bowling lol

He's a joke. Pretty selfish of him actually to try all sorts of rubbish tactics at the expense of his cricketers.

You can imagine a guy like Stoinis coming in as an outsider, and the Indian captain just saying **** him bat at 8 and have his mates bat up the order

Maybe I'm just a pessimist but it doesn't surprise me.

Each team played 10 matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders are in top position. My question is, does here any chances of qualifying the rest three teams?

You may be right. But I think in some cases it is the unknown foreign player factor. But Stoinis has toured India with Australia and performed brilliantly despite Australia being thrashed, so people should be aware that he can ba tvery well. In fact, his odi career comprises of Australia mostly: losing in NZ, losing in India, and losing at home to England, and yet he made big runs.

Another example was the RCB treatment of Woakes batting him at 8 behind Sundar and Negi. Not everyone knows that Woakes has proven himself to bat well at international level, let alone domestic. It was a very bad idea in my opinion also to have him languish at 8. He deserved on merit to be at 6 minimum, if not 5 when they dropped BMac and had Mandeep at 4 with Sarfraz at 5.

Another example that has irked many fans was Jadeja continually batting ahead of DJ Bravo, but that finally got reverted back in a recent game to DJ Bravo ahead of Jadeja.

4 teams? RR are mathematical chances. MI if they win tonight are definitely not out of it at all - in fact a big win over over KKR tonight has MI in the top 4 instantly. Put a fork in DD and RCB.

Long term play for the World Cup. Make these guys get limited opportunities so they fail and their confidence is shattered.
