Hard to justify selecting Mills ahead of Watson as a bowler alone IMOMills has the potential but is still raw. A good yorker would be good for the end when the batsman are looking for the slower ball. Needs to also work on his new balls skills really although RCB have quickly (and correctly) stoppped using him much in the powerplay. And as you say even if he has the physical properties to do well, you still need to be smart in your application of the skills- and work things out quickly if you don't want to be dropped. His fielding has been terrible also and batting 9 when he's a number 11 bat. I'd be dropping him now and give him a break.
clint mckay has bowled a maiden in the final over of a twenty twenty against andrew tye with exclusively slower balls and it was gloriousMills has an excellent slower ball, but uses it bit too often. If you bowl 4 slower balls in an over, however good you might disguise your slower balls it really won't work.
It's too late for him to achieve that level of greatness though.Well, Federer is the GOAT in Tennis because he combined the genius with the hardwork and resolve (and obviously the luck) to achieve the results. I agree that AB is not at THAT level yet but just as a genius of the game, I think the comparison is very valid.
In other words, what vcs said.
Must ba a thing on the franchise circuit this year. The standard in the BBL was woeful too.Fielding's been dogshit this season
That's bad, but the worst part is definitely missing an over of identical slower balls.I think what's worse is that they didn't even try to steal a bye, even on the last ball
Not if you've seen Watson bowl recently. He's out of form or he's just done.Hard to justify selecting Mills ahead of Watson as a bowler alone IMO
Nah I haven't tbh, was just judging by what I saw last year. Not if you've seen Watson bowl recently. He's out of form or he's just done.
It's too late for him to achieve that level of greatness though.
**** I completely forgot about that guyYeah, in hindsight, I think the better comparison would be Marat Safin, who, IMO, was just as much a genius with an all-court, all-types game as Federer but who for various combinations of reasons, never achieved genius level results.
What would be the point? He could just bowl differently when being tested.Narine's starting to become good again. Send him for testing.
