Whatever it takes!!!
Balaji rocks. It is a shame today's game was not televised in the UK. Do people think he is ready to 'do a Nehra' and return? He is 29 years old, so time is not on his side, so to speak. He has put in a lot of overs domestically and I reckon he could offer more control that current options do, atm. His lack of pace and batting ability will work against him...what do people here think?
He can actually bat decently to be honest.. I would say to the level of Zak at least...

he literally gets these expressions out of his arse, literally..

Coz that is where he keeps the bloody book from where he steals these lines.. They showed it when they had to cut for the toss of the second game yest and Sidhu didn't realize camera was on him and juz got up and took his book out to refer..
Haha, I see. I missed it.

I think he might be a decent stock bowler in places like England; can't be relied on to make inroads, but one who can be miserly and hold up one end for reasonably long spells. TBF, he didn't do much more than that in the Ranji Trophy either.
Yes. His last couple years have been pretty unpenetrative. The important thing is three consecutive seasons without a big injury, could Sreesanth or Munaf manage that? The risk is that he does not pry enough wickets - definitely one to consider though, amongst the more obvious options.

Not sure about clubbing Dhawan with the rest of those.
Dhawan and Bisla are from the same batch in the U-19 side. Rahane, though, is still a lot better than all of them. After all, he's won Ranji and a few Duleep titles for his teams.
I know about their quality but i guess they just have to adapt and almsot earn their place in the teams at a higher spot in t20's.
But still can't figure out some of the how the likes of Paunikar,Bisla,Pathan etc.. are playing ahead of them.
Why should they earn their place? They are the best domestic batsmen in India. They should get regular places in the top four regularly, like their counterparts in other countries in their respective domestic leagues. We see overseas domestic players and T20 misfits get lucrative, prominent roles in IPL franchises, so why should Rahane, with a colossal FC average and tournament victories, and a strong contender for the national team, be forced to earn his place in the side, from a thankless, nearly impossible state? This is how supposedly inferior players like Rohit and Raina became international regulars.
It's a looong tornament. For domestic fringe players there will be plenty of chances for people to grab opportunties or to **** it up.
The only team that's giving domestic players enough chances is Royal Challengers Bangalore. I loved their idea of bidding and securing prominent domestic Indian players (maybe not the third Pathan) and throwing them into the deep end. They've got a good plan, and if they fix their flimsy bowling, they'll go the distance and so will their young batsmen. If only other teams follow suit...

The standard of this year's IPL is absolutely rank - like comparing WWE to Manny Pacquiao for fight fans

IMO, it's 50% club level, 30% fc and the balance is when some decent players decide to focus
