Let's look at Ajinkya Rahane in the IPL. He's played little in IPL and has largely struggled. He's not got to bat in the top five, and may struggle in his current position. This is a player largely supposed to be better than IPL stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj Singh, but IPL doesn't give him enough chances. IPL doesn't give him any chances. Should he get more chances? He is, after all, one of India's best domestic batsmen, and better than some India regulars, and deserves a regular run in the top three.

Both Pujara and Rahane haven't really got good chances in the IPL so far.

Mukund has not even played a game.

But this is a t20 comp afterall.

They're far, far, far better players than their IPL chances suggest, and definitely better than the likes of Asad Pathan, Bisla, Dhawan and Paunikar.

Not sure about clubbing Dhawan with the rest of those.

I know about their quality but i guess they just have to adapt and almsot earn their place in the teams at a higher spot in t20's.
But still can't figure out some of the how the likes of Paunikar,Bisla,Pathan etc.. are playing ahead of them.

It's a looong tornament. For domestic fringe players there will be plenty of chances for people to grab opportunties or to **** it up.

Balaji rocks. It is a shame today's game was not televised in the UK. Do people think he is ready to 'do a Nehra' and return? He is 29 years old, so time is not on his side, so to speak. He has put in a lot of overs domestically and I reckon he could offer more control that current options do, atm. His lack of pace and batting ability will work against him...what do people here think?

If you are a Aussie spinner or an Indian paceman I reckon you are guaranteed a run sooner than later in the national colors.

I dont think Balaji is age barred from the Indian setup; the pace stables are too empty for BCCI to be that choosy.

I think he might be a decent stock bowler in places like England; can't be relied on to make inroads, but one who can be miserly and hold up one end for reasonably long spells. TBF, he didn't do much more than that in the Ranji Trophy either.

Coz that is where he keeps the bloody book from where he steals these lines.. They showed it when they had to cut for the toss of the second game yest and Sidhu didn't realize camera was on him and juz got up and took his book out to refer.. :laugh:

became a big fan of Balaji during the jeet lo dil series shame injuries derailed his career haven't seen him bowling since the famous Banglore test from 2005 hope he gets another run soon if he has got back on track.
