Whatever it takes!!!
It does in T20 cricket.
maybe in your opinion but not in mine and I guess quite a few others... But I see your point coz the MI decision making was pretty abysmal today.. Not sure Sachin alone should take the blame but boy did they complicate simple stuff...

Tendulkar alone shouldn't be blamed. Shaun Pollock, Robin Singh et al deserve some criticism. Despite the anger I felt at Tendulkar's decision to skip the test series, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him at the presentation. Great player but he's only human after all.

Don say facts like that to certain posters here though. :p

Is Tendulkar becoming a bit too much like KP? Had a few troubles against SLA the last few matches.

Tendulkar played well yesterday. Needed better support. Think his analysis of Mumbai's middle order being inconsistentrubbish is fairly accurate. The pinch-hitter experiment, whosoever's idea it was, didn't help matters either. Pollard, Sathish etc. have been plain rubbish throughout the tournament with the bat. Rayudu and Sharma didn't deliver in the business end either.

Our middle order has been inconsistent: Sachin | Cricket News | Cricbuzz.com

Blizzard played one of the very few noteworthy innings from the 2nd opener in the play offs for MI the entire IPL. Think it was the only 50 from the 2nd opener. Recall so many times where we lost a wicket early on and Rayudu and Sachin had to bat slowly and consolidate.

Looking back at individuals, Jacobs was dissappointing, Franklin performed once or twice when it mattered but otherwise didn't do much the rest of the IPL. Symonds was unimpressive. Pollard was rubbish. Sathish was a waste of a player in the XI. Suman didn't get too many opportunities. Bowling was decent but Harbhajan had a lot of ups and downs.

Malinga was awesome, Munaf was steady. Sachin lost a bit of form towards the end of the IPL, but was otherwise great. Rayudu was pretty solid and could increase the run rate once he was settled. Rohit Sharma played a couple of good knocks as well.

Harbhajan as a pinch hitter was still a bad move imo and since Pollard wasn't doing much with the bat anyways, he should have been sent up the order instead.

Even in the World Cup he got out twice to left arm spinners IIRC (against Netherlands and Ireland). Raymond Price, Ashley Giles, etc. have all troubled him a bit in the past so it's not exactly something new. I wouldn't go as far as to call it a weakness, but I suppose it's a sign that his powers are on the wane.

Worth noting that he also took 4 or 5 boundaries off Iqbal Abdulla and Shakib in the previous game, though. I would prefer him to play much straighter against the spinners, he seems to move around the crease too much looking for the unorthodox shots. Perhaps it's because he feels he has to play that way in this format to move the field around.

The spinner who got him out yesterday was awful to watch BTW. Makes Yardy look like Bishen Singh Bedi.

It's not so much yesterday's dismissal but against one SLA a few matches ago he looked rank. And it wasn't playing expansive shots either, he was being completely beaten on the forward defence and the standard work to pad off a legside ball...

Woo, absolutely delightful. First KKR and now Mumbai Indians bite the dust! Just deserts indeed; there is still justice in this world.

Now if these two - Gambhir and Tendulkar - have a memorably miserable tour of England and then an even worse tour of Australia, my cup of schadenfreude would run over.
I can understand these sentiments....

Gambhir, Sehwag and Tendulkar, and to a lesser extent Dhoni, Yuvraj and Zaheer, all seem to value the IPL over Test cricket (with the first three) or even an ODI series....

Is the IPL that much more important to them than international cricket?

Chennai and Dhoni have won enough

Would be awesome if Gayle did top this IPL off with a match-winning performance.
