Gayle >> IPL

He owns the show, really. And karma seems to be getting her own back against Tendulkar for opting out of the WI tour.

Superb catch from Mithun a few minutes ago. He really needs to work on his bowling in the shorter forms though. Good prospect in the longer form.

Yet another gem from Gayle. Has any batsman been able to keep such a consistent run of form in any T20 tournament? Exceptional stuff. Good hand from Mayank Agarwal today as well. One to watch definitely.

Mumbai peaked way too early. And this Harbhajan at 3 ahead of the in-form Rayudu makes no sense whatsoever.

Don't really rate Mithun too much.

Is too one dimensional with his length and does not move the ball too much either.

Had one good FC season but has kind of faded away there too.

Is just a honest hard working normal Indian domestic bowler at the moment. Nothing more.

Yeah. Worked very hard on the SL tour and chipped in some useful runs with the bat, but doesn't look to have much about him at all these days. Aravind on the other hand looks a useful bowler, though I haven't been impressed much by his actual bowling. Seems to pick up an awful lot of wickets through batsmen playing ordinary shots against him.

Mumbai are the perennial underachievers of the IPL. All those big names and still no title. Can't be too harsh, though, because that is T20 for you. There were a few questionable strategies once again from Mumbai : fielding first (in Chennai of all places!), not giving Malinga the first over, Harbhajan at number three once again - the slot where Rayudu has been so successful. Still, you've got to give it to Chris Gayle Bangalore for outplaying Mumbai thoroughly. Hope tomorrow's match is a good one.

Hard to tell about Aravind based on the IPL.

Hasn't looked anything special but has taken wickets.

But overall i think has bowled better atleast on par,if not better than Zaheer Khan who has been nothing special either.
His success in the longer forms will depend on how much can he actually swing the ball and how can he contain it?
Shrikant Wagh was another left armer who looked impressive in patches.
Irfan Pathan improved in the later parts too and began to swing the ball again which was encouraging.

But the best Indian seamer in the IPL has been Munaf Patel. Has looked Sharp and accurate after a while and seems to have improved his fitness too.
Apart from Him it's been spinners like Rahul Sharma,Iqbal Abdullah,Amit Mishra and Ashwin who have impressed and done well.

Also hard to tell with the few t20 outings only, but there is some potential in Varun Aaron too.

Going to be an easy final for Csk. Get Gayle and Kohli early and the rest of the batting has not got enough game time this season. And we are undefeated at home. Piss easy game tomorrow for Csk provided we get Gayle in the powerplay. Ashwin to do his thing tomorrow.

Yep, not getting to the final = not good enough for Mumbai. RCB are a fine side, but getting to the final should be Mumbai's minimum expectation, given their resources. Not a good captaincy day for Tendulkar either.

India's pace bowling stocks have looked terribad only since we started looking for bowlers who bowl 140+ consistently. We made real progress in the fast bowling department 5 years ago when we selected 135Kmph pacers with control and swing like Balaji, Irfan, Nehra, Sreesanth etc. Should quit looking for pure fast bowlers and go back to a plan that worked tbh.

Woo, absolutely delightful. First KKR and now Mumbai Indians bite the dust! Just deserts indeed; there is still justice in this world.

Now if these two - Gambhir and Tendulkar - have a memorably miserable tour of England and then an even worse tour of Australia, my cup of schadenfreude would run over.

I bet you'd also cut off your nose if your face annoyed you a bit.

Actually I would if it annoyed me not just a bit, but one helluva lot. And if it was my nose that was responsible for it. I'm in that kind of mood today after hearing about this.

I'd probably cut of my years too if I hear Tendulkar saying yet once again how much more important to him is India winning than any personal landmarks. Or for that matter, that he deems test cricket to be the pinnacle of the game.

A true Indian fan right here.
