SamSawnoff

U19 Vice-Captain
Yup, he replaces nehra and will act as a vice captain for Pune warriors. So i guess we will be seeing Ganguly open with ryder
If it was any other team than Pune, I'd say it was a bad move as he's slow at batting. But Yuvy is a poor skipper and Ganguly might provide them with some stability up top as well as some decision making assistance.

I wonder if Yuvy will crack the sulks like he did at Punjab?

I wish we can have KKR vs PWI on 19th may in eden gardens, it would have been interesting to see the crowd support but anyways KKR vs PWI would be a cracker of a game

And Cameron White still remains in the Deccan team while Duminy gets dropped.

Is he like seriously shagging the owner ?

Have a feeling White will come good today. The rest of his IPL career pretty much depends on it.

dammit kallis gosh i love watching that man bat, but i agree i can't white is still in the team or christian its like deccan want to loose, and when you facing a talented team like kolkata surely you want ur best players?

It's quite crazy, this obsession with Christian. They had Symonds last year, and first they dump him in favour of a similarly priced Christian. Now they don't want to admit that they have made a horrific blunder, and keep playing him. Who's their coach? Andrew Hilditch by any chance?

Christ! The only thing that this Christian was expected to be able to do well was field. And now this!

The Deccan owner is pretty hot. Their catching was woeful today, and ended up giving away at least 30-40 runs directly due to dropped catches. Hope they chase this down, but not holding out much hope. They have crap batsmen as well.

Cameron White is ****ing useless right now. The "can't bat, can't bowl, can't field or catch" adage perfectly fits his form.

well their coaches are all Australian if I'm not mistaken so that would explain the continued play of white and christian!!! atleast he took a wicket probably the best thing i've seen him do. They don't have crap batsmen just the lack of judgement to play their best ones. Why the hell do these teams insist on playing these unknown international players when their are so many better ones in the world? You only get four so why play players like christian and white hell why do you even waste money buying them?

I know that but I don't think he has played well in the competition yet. He played for the royal challengers bangalore before the deccan chargers and if my memory serves me right only had about two or three decent innings

The List: Players with impressive stats who didn't make it to the 2011 IPL | Regulars | Cricinfo Magazine | ESPN Cricinfo

Here is a list of all top batting averages of non ipl players in the T20 cricket format. Look at the names and tell me there is no replacment for daniel christian or cameron white. It also explains why deccan are so crap at the moment.
It's not a very long list when you consider that the vast majority of those are either unheard of domestic players, were bidded on but pulled out injured, are away on international duty and/or are Pakistanis.

Bres gets a nice mention though.

International duty does take a few players out i will admit, but you look at those averages and strike rates I mean come on. A player like David Miller has international experiance but can't get picked up at an auction, he needs a player to get an injury before he gets bought? I just think some very good players are left out due to failures of their international teams and instead get replaced by unknown or out of form players that are bought due to the relative success of their nation ie: Australia

Someone like Guptill would be able to replace him but yeah half of those guys don't really apply in this case. Ferguson will probably get a chance anyway and he is a talented player.

Yeah an Australian passport doesn't hurt if you want to get an IPL contract.
