Escaped? Pakistan had a big lead by the time they finally declared in the first test. You talk about it like they scraped home by blocking out the dying overs with 8 or 9 down in the fourth innings - they actually had a fair chance at winning the game it there was another day to play.vandemataram said:Pakistan would be looking for a draw, but this time there won't be lucky escapes, Pakistan escaped the first time but this time they will face defeat

apparently there is still 15-20 overs left in the day. if pakistan knock of 60 of those runs today, thats only 340 in a day. a huge target, but not impossible.deeps said:shocking captaincy here by ganguly.
There is no way pakistan are going to even try to chase 400 in a day. A declaration of 300 would have been sufficient, on a crumbling final day. This is overkill, and now india have gone from a good chance of winning, to a very slight chance
I think there is one batsman that influenced the indian thinktank into declaring so late, and that man is shahid afridi. India are wary that if he comes off, 350 in a day will be nothing. 400 is out of even afridi's reach.
I expect Afridi to come out with all guns blazing as he always does, and the rest of the team will just bat out the day.
A great test-match, but spoilt in the end by ganguly.
India still have a chance, but it's very unlikely now

limited potential??? afridi? ok, u are seriously biased mate, he has unlmited potential. if he put his mind to it, he could be better than sehwag.vandemataram said:I don't think many ppl dislikes Afridi, a guy of limited potential but is very entertaining.
No...vandemataram said:Is this a joke????

U are thinking like an Australian captain, Pakistan doesn't think that way. They know their team's potential and they aren't that positive.Nnanden said:apparently there is still 15-20 overs left in the day. if pakistan knock of 60 of those runs today, thats only 340 in a day. a huge target, but not impossible.
I would have liked to agree with you on that. But Afridi & Akhtar have been behaving badly for years before Pathan entered the Indian team. And all I would like to say in defense is that India needed to stand up to the sledging and bad conduct showed by the Australian and Pakistani players on the field. Btw, I rank Inzamam as the most well behaved and gentle man of all the cricket players at present. And I cant help myself from laughing when he says "Boyz are working hard."vandemataram said:Such incidents happens, you wanted Pathan to bowl Afridi for a duck, when Pathan himself happens to be the most misbehaved cricketer.
