BTW, is it just me, or do the cricinfo staff use the word "rock" far too much in their headlines? "Indian pacers rock Pakistan", "Sehwag rocks Mohali", etc, etc. This is a long-term problem and needs to be rectified.

Maybe they need a thesaurus.

Wow, what a slaughter this game is turning out to be. Incidentally, some of SJS's comments over the last two days have had me cracking up, particularly the "coaching test" - well, done, mate, classic stuff.

Still, it's good to see the Pakistan attack doing so well without Shoaib - this must be a real vindication for Inzy and the rest of the Pakistan players who felt his commitment and skill weren't necessary to the success of the team.

WHAT???? Pakistans attack suxs, just Danish stood out, otherwise they are all pathetic.Sami,Razzak,Naveed all bowled poorly, if on occasion they bowled a few good bowls then its not a big deal.
Inzi would be in real trouble when he return back to Pakistan after Indian tour, Akhtar will be back into the squad.Even if they don't Akhtar, they need to get rid of Sami and Naveed (by bringing in Shabbir and Umar) and Razzak should only be played in onedayers.

I told him that they do have Inzi,Youhanna and Asim so they have some bloke who can bat, but the three top order players probably aren't even familiar with the basics of batting.

Pakistan attack did not *suck*. Not by a long shot. Indian batting is clearly superior to ours and their bowling is hyped up to be better then ours too (against a much fragiler line-up). Keeping this in mind, restricting India to 500 WITH the plethora of catches that were dropped, the umpiring decisions that weren't given is, to say the least, an adequate job.

(And special props to Kaneria; he should be over-joyed on accomplishing something at which even Warne fails periodically)

He was managing a slightly worse average before the 2004 Pakistan season!

And you tell me why Balaji is not "less than mediocre" with the same average( in tests 44 and ODIs 36) as Nehra when he is.

I don't agree with you, and i don't think its essential to compare Pak bowling with Indian bowling. Indian bowlers have a very easy task at hand as they are up against a very poor side, but that is not the issue.

Pakistani pacers, all three of them, were VERY dissapointing. Irrespective of how many runs India managed , Pakistani pacers didn't impressed anyone. I see no future for Rana,Razzak and Sami in test matches.

Danish was certainly awesome, if anyone think Pakistan did an adequate job then its only coz of Danish.If you take out Danish then this attack would become a true laughing stock.

Actually Butt is very talented, i think he might get the axe in next match, but i would like to see him get another chance.

I think they should bring in Hameed in place of Umar and should throw out the vice captain and bring in either Malik or Afridi.

Well in Inzamam, Asim Kamal,Youhanna and Danish they have 4 players who knows how to play the game, the rest are just pathetic.

The difference between the two team is big, and i fear if Pakistan continue to perform poorly then even Indian fans would lose interest in Indo-Pak series (i don't think many would like to see one-sided matches)

I don't know why Razzak was played in the test match, someone like Shahid Nazeer who happen to be experianced and have been doing well at domestic level should have been in the team. Also i think Sami has been given enough chance, when Shabbir and Gul get fits then Sami should be shown the door.

Yeah u are right, maybe i should have said that the pace attack wasn't impressive. I was basically replying to Slave-love's remark who thought that the exclusion of Akhtar was justified as Pak bowlers did a decent job.I think his exclusion might have been justified had atleast two pacer done a good job.

A suggestion to Pakistani president!

I have read in newspapers that Pakistani President is considering comming over to India to watch the cricket match between Pakistan and India.If i was a Pakistani fan i would have begged the president to cancel the trip to avoid the humiliation of watching his team getting r@ped by India helplessly

If the trip is unavoidable, then better postpone it till the onedayers begin, as in Oneday matches Pakistan might prove to be a bit combatitive, though i'm sure they are going to lose them anyway.
