**Official** India v Pakistan

What I found quite ironic was that the minute Sehwag went out, and Ganguly came to the crease Sachin slowed down. Maybe the tactics of the Indian team changed, or maybe Sachin just decided that with Veeru back in the pavilion India needed to settle. Either way both Ganguly and Sachin played very slow from that point on.

Maybe Pakistan set defensive fields, I'm not sure I don't have the privelege of watching but maybe we're being too harsh on Sachin? He came out in a blaze, and changed his game plan the minute Sehwag was out. Then again maybe I'm wrong and he was intentionally going slow for selfish reasons. Like I said I'm not claiming either as fact, but just playing devil's advocate.

Whatever it takes!!!

I am not so sure they bowled all that well with the new ball. I was watching on telly at that time.

They actually bowled a lot many very short deliveries and alyhough none of them rose, all the batsmen kept ducking with the balls barely managing to go over their heads with them kneeling on the ground !!

It was an amazing site. I have never before seen so many batsmen duck to deliveries which, if they had stood and played would have been comfortable height for pulling. It was very very inexplicable.

Some how, after Ganguly came in the Indian team decided to shut shop. I have never felt so frustrated with sachin's batting as today. He just decided he was not going to play any forcing shots. It looked terribly terribly selfish and as if he had nothing but his century in mind.

But I dont know if he was under instructions since just before Ganguly came in, he was playing very freely.

I actually was so upset, I said loudly, I hope he gets out without getting his hundred if this is the way he wants to go about it. Unfortunately he did.

I would really like to know if it was his own decision to bat that way or was he under instructions from the captain ??

India should have led by 200 runs and maybe they would have had a wicket or two more in hand.

Except for Kaneria, who was superb, no one looked likely to bother the batsmen from amongst the Pakistani bowlers.

I am not saying the Pak bowlers bowled great, but atleast Rana and Sami were getting something out of that new ball. It certainly swung a little and bounced a little, and as Sachin's and Kaarthick's dismissals showed, a little bit of swing or bounce is sometimes good enough to get players out. I think Inzy was being over cautious after Sehwag's assault. After all, SEhwag has done that to better bowlers and attacks than this one. I hope Inzy is not too critical of his guys, they are already demoralized to an extent as it is.

Pakistan's batting lineup is a load of bull. I think they are even worse than Bangladesh.

I was wrong on Younis being made the captain of Pak team, i think the guy doesn't deserve a place in Pak test team. Pakistan should bring in Afridi in the next match in place of Younis and Youhanna should bat at one down.

Wow, what a slaughter this game is turning out to be. Incidentally, some of SJS's comments over the last two days have had me cracking up, particularly the "coaching test" - well, done, mate, classic stuff. :)

Still, it's good to see the Pakistan attack doing so well without Shoaib - this must be a real vindication for Inzy and the rest of the Pakistan players who felt his commitment and skill weren't necessary to the success of the team.

BTW, is it just me, or do the cricinfo staff use the word "rock" far too much in their headlines? "Indian pacers rock Pakistan", "Sehwag rocks Mohali", etc, etc. This is a long-term problem and needs to be rectified.
