Tendulkar is way overrated - I have been saying that for years. He is more interested in milking the money through his endorsements, restaurants and land deals than he is in performing. He should have been dropped a long time ago. Ganguly did India well with his aggression as captain but India should have dropped him before this series began. As long as the captain cannot be dropped for continuos long term non-performance, there is no presure on anyone (look at that fool Yuvraj - when was the last time he performed when it mattered?)
You`re kidding me? You want to drop arguably the best player in the world in the modern era? Go home. Run. Don`t stop, don`t turn around, just keep running. Then lock the door.

tendulkar is overhyped by fools who don't know much about cricket generally and is considered overrated by people who react to that stupid hype....

Somehow, I kinda always knew that India would lose the 3rd ODI. IT is just a feeling, Pakistan are too good an ODI side to lose 3 in a row to anyone except Australia. But I think India have a good chance at Ahmedabad. The toss will be vital, again, but I think India will do well because they faltered so miserably here. They are bound to try and put in the extra yards in the next match. Plus, I want AA in the side for Pathan. Sure, he might go for runs, but, atleast, he will field well and he won't be any worser than Pathan as a bowler, IMHO.

Great win for Pakistan, and hopefully, the acquired confidence from this match will help them in the next one.

Great performance from the batsmen, particularly Salman Butt and Shoaib Malik. I'm sure lots of his critics are shut up now for having disapproved him as just a specialist batsman.

One disappointment, however, was again Afridi. Either he should be
dropped or played lower-down the order.

And credit should be given to Rana for picking up quick, early wickets that really took the match away from Indians. And good he was ensured Man of the Match award when he picked up another two Indian wickets at the end simply because he deserved it more than Butt because of the passion he has for performing well up to the task for the Pakistani team.

And while I enjoyed watching Malik bowl after a long time, I think it was like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire for having asked him to do so because if he is to be caught again of a suspected action, he may not be able to bowl for well up to year. And secondly, they didn't need his contribution with the ball because the match was already won by Pakistan when India were 80 odd with 6 down. And lastly, if it had to be done, it should have been done a lot earlier from the start of the tour.

Well, first post for me in this thread, which is kind of surprising. Yeah India have a lot of problems at the moment, a lot. Ganguly wont really re-capture any form if he's rested or dropped, and I think he should be given atleast one last chance to redeem himself.

Our dependence on Dravid and Sehwag can only take us so far, and really it maybe time to experiment a little bit. Yuvraj has been pathetic, appauling infact so I'd toss him out. Kaif stays in due to his ability to play a gusty innings every now and then and his fielding is an asset in itself.

I have a feeling they'll stick with Pathan due to his innings up the top of the order, but I'd really like to see Ajit Agarkar come back into the squad. Never count Agarkar out in a ODI game. He'll come back and take a few important wickets and quickly and he's an excellent ground fielder.

So my team for then next game,

Sehwag
Tendulkar
Dhoni
Ganguly
Dravid
Mongia
Kaif
Agarkar
Kartik
Harbhajan
Nehra

What did Zaheer do wrong in the last match?

I just dont rate him at all :p

Sorry if that defies any logic or offends anyone, but you know I'm entitled to one post like that aren't I?

and the fact that 1/48 with the ball is a rather poor peformance I reckon.

:D :p

lol.....

But IMO, I think I would put him in the side ahead of Kartik/Bhajji....

Kartik's one of those bowlers given the pitch conditions and given his day, he can turn a match more than Zaheer ever can with his monotonous, flat fast bowling. Plus Kartik's fitter and a much better fielder. Also Pakistan's had a history of difficulty with spinners compared to fast bowlers.

So for me anyway a Agarkar/Kartik/Harbhajan/Nehra combination works the best for this upcoming game anyway. We cannot let them smack 300 runs all the time.

Can anyone possibly do worse? Pathan probably made sure that the bowler the fits his shoes in the next match feels very comfortable.

On a flat batting pitch it was a very good performance, he did extremely well towards the end of the innings.

IKP might have a ordinary match with the ball, but IKP did fantastic with the bat.Made his first ever fifty, these are signs of IKP slowly developing into an allrounder. IKP did not have a good series, but keep in mind that the wkts in India hardly helped the fast bowlers.I'm sure IKP will be back to his best in the next series.

The only thing Irfan did right was bowling the two beamers.

Had he finished his ten overs, Pakistan would probably have scored 350!

My Indian team for next game would be,

Tendulkar
Gambhir
Ganguly
Laxman
Kaif
Yuvraj
Dhoni
Ajit
Karthick
Z Khan
Nehra.

I just wanna see how ur team perform without Sehwag and Dravid :D

There are atleast 4 batter in Tend,Gang,Laxman and Yuvraj that are out of form.
