Let me b the first to day india did a gr8 job of getting pak out, and also the first to say pak did a lousy job of NOT getting out...lol but u gotta love the game the indians r just so strong at the moment maybe not the pace attack but batting and spin attack was too strong for pakistani players...for the next test id like to see salman butt in for taufeeq, keep shahid afridi opening. and i dont care if it isnt a spinners wicket get arshad khan in there for khalil its almost shamefull to call him test standard, i bowl better then him...no wait really! i do...

If Rana is fit again, I'd have him in there in place of Razzaq -- Razzaq' may be useful in the ODi's but more often than not he's going to disappoint in test match cricket.
In any case, you're not going to win many tests with just 3 specialist bowlers.

Arshad in place of Khalil is also correct -- Khalil's bowling looks pretty benign.

U are being nice, German Shepherd. His bowling is very benign.

But well done India, esp. Kumble, it was not that difficult a wicket to bat on and it was good stuff by our bowlers to win us the game. It is esp.sweeter as we came from behind (atleast behind by a little bit) to win this game. Good to see some fight from the Indians. Pakistan fought very well and I think they have the makings of a good international side, if they can sort out their bowling attack.

By persisting with Afridi in the opening Pakistan is making one of the following presumptions/statements
1) If Sehwag can play aggressively and be successful then why not Afridi. (Well there is a huge huge difference in their games. The only similarity is their aggresssion)

2) If he gets a 59 with this kind of batting, he is preferable to others who average less.(He will not get 59 everytime)

3) He is better than the alternatives.(It looks like that but Pakistan needs to look beyond the regular openers. I think Asim Kamal has the game to open. He is one of the few Pakistanis, besides the middle order veterans, who plays comfortably off the backfoot. And he has a wonderful temprament. It is certainly worth a try)

Inspite of the runs he got, I dont think Taufeeq Umar looks like an opening batsman. Maybe these two games did not see him at his best but he seems to have no idea where the off stump is and he is extremely reluctant to go back and across.

Yes Khalil looked very ordinary and as made to look worse due to his insistence on bouncing the ball. I have seen Srinath make a fool of himself trying that and Srinath was a far far better bowler than he is.

I think Pakistan needs to look at Akmal as a serious top class batsman. He is really good. If he continues to languish at number eight Pakistan may make an Azhar Mehmood out of him too. It maybe worth while to send him before Razzaq.

Can someone tell me why it is so difficult for Sami's front foot transgressions cant be corrected ? It is nothing but gross indiscipline in bowling which a disciplined and sternly enforced net regime will cure anyone but a rebel of !

Hey Sehwag309, I got a Manjrekar quote for you

Very well played by india, its that much easy to take defeat when ur team goes down fighting ,well bowled kumble ,him taking a wicket on the first ball today and afridi yesterday was the turning point for me,but all in all a great test match ,hopefully pakistan can make it level in the next match ,the news is that they mite play arshad khan instaed of khalil and probably yasir instead of taufiq,Shabbir ahmed is fully fit and will be joining the team in the onedayers as Shoaib has started bowling for a couple of days they gonna test his fitness out for about a week so he has a 50/50 chance for the one dayers

Long time to go before you're sure of an enduring laugh. 1 test and 6 ODIs.

C'mon Shoaib and Shabbir, make it to the team!
I never uttered a word or wrote anything like that, u wrote thrashed and about the Pie, so I offered a reply with a picture..I know there is 1 more test and ODI in which Pak is favorite.

I never predict or open my mouth before any game, in any case...it was in humour..never meant it in a harsh way

..u shouldnt have quoted me with Pictures, can get very slow for 56K users. I suggest Editing your post without my Pictures

On the other hand, yes, Manjrekar is slowly but surely developinh humour in Rameez's Co. :p

i do see ur points, but i must say afridi needs a long term chance to show he can produce his kind of form, but if he doesnt then we can reconsider, no harm in trying eh?...asim kamal yes he can have a go opening but i would think that he has been asked and refused or atleast he asked to come in at 6? maybe? possibly? who knws...
akmal point totaly agreed...and as far as sami goes thats one huge talent down the drain im so dissapointed, if only he had received sum input from past gr8s...

Well, a great win for India, but I must say it's the usual, foolish Pakistani batting line-up that gave away the match. Few of those were the "wicket-taking" deliveries, others being the ordinary ones( eg: Afridi and Younis getting out on the balls that deserved a four)
