***Official*** India Tour of South Africa, 2023/24

Hey it worked for Labuschagne. And I am pretty sure Smith was dropped about 7 times in that Pune 100 which was the toughest conditions he faced in that tour in 2017.
Its not working for Labuschagne now and I don't know what a single innings from Smith going to prove

Anyway the luck sort of even out at the end. I'm looking more towards how comfortable Kohli is looking at the crease atm

Pretty funny to watch rabada magically turn this pitch into an unplayable minefield after gavaskar and co kept saying the pitch had flattened massively.

Whatever it takes!!!
The issues with the side has always been obvious. We need to plan and focus a lot to do well in a SENA test series. The times we did that, we won - Aus in 18-19, Aus again in 20-21, Eng in 21. But with our schedule and our series being so financially viable and what basically keeps some of these other boards floating, we will always have to play the next series with 2 weeks notice.

We need to bring in a specialist test squad or at least prioritize tests which these guys did to an extent this time. But we need to do more of that, and also establish a proper feeder process through the A tours. There is absolutely no use in the A team playing in the same country at the same time when the national team is there except for having backups nearby. If we are serious about winning test series away from home, the side should go and play the season previous. Like if we know we are touring Aus next winter, our A team should be there now, not in RSA. This way we will know who in the next level is ready to step up and it also allows a way for players who are dropped from the test side to comeback into the side.

For the white ball formats, we need to invest in multi-skilled players and ensure we have some depth with both bat and ball. And we almost never have the A side playing white ball formats away from home. We need to kick-start that as well.

These processes and systems being in place does not guarantee any success but without these, we will pretty much never succeed except the odd great individual performance(s).

Draw.

India have only won in Australia where there isn't as much lateral movement. And in Aus 20/21, everything went opposite to plans.

However, the last few series, the bowlers have disappointed at key moments more than the bats.

I wonder if the bounce is uneven? Old ball and they aren't bowling too quick, but the bounce looks seriously uncomfortable oFF a good length sometimes.
