*Official* India Tour of New Zealand 2019

I’m surprised by this, but I think Doug should be in the team. And CDG should not...

Guptill
Latham
Williamson
Taylor
Nicholls
Neesham
Bracewell
Santner
Sodhi
Ferguson
Boult

Still not convinced by Ferguson, not just because of today. But he’s shown some promise. No idea why they won’t try Bennett. This team has 5 bowlers, plus Neesham and Kane.

Munro must be cooked. He’s quite a let down at ODI level.

Who else makes the squad apart from that team? Henry, Astle?

I feel so sad.

Whilst the 2-3 scoreline possibly flattered NZ a little when England came 12 months ago, India look a stronger all-round side to me. England's bowling attack doesn't look nearly as strong, although they do have more depth in batting.
I would say combination of both New Zealand batsmen looking unprepared and Indian bowlers being in hot form. England have better all rounders and India relies way too much on top 3 to click in every game. Also there is rain factor which could affect our spinners heavily.

I'd take Bracewell over CDG, but that's not a high bar. Deserves to be in the conversation for the squad based on this, though. Maybe our third ranked all-rounder after Neesham and Santner?

Interesting to see Anderson bowling pretty decently in the Super Smash, I think he might have a role to play too.

You just know Southee will be there no matter what so that's that. Need at least one reserve batsman - Young? Worker? Maybe even Watling?

Though honestly NZ need the top 5 to be far better against the better bowling sides. The-scoreline-that-shall-not-be-named makes the bowling attack composition and choice of allrounder irrelevant in most cases.

One shot too many, it was fun while it lasted. CDG out, dougeh in. Only if Dougeh could bowl Neesham pace with that movement he got today.

CdG still my preferred 7 i think. Although Bracewell might have edged his way into my WC squad. Still a spud with the ball though.

HAHAHA Trent! What could have been when your tail hits like this and if we had wickets in hand...

Neesham Bracewell Santner is a better combination than anything containing CDG
I disagree. If that's your combination then Santner should be at 7, Bracewell at 8. I hope they actually give CdG a few games to actually let him a shot. They've given the other Colin enough rope, double down.

I think inadvertently the Munro factor is putting pressure on Guptill rather than taking it off, so I think they should try either Latham or Kane (who has been Mr I’m Not Going On - be great if he could rectify that).

I think batsmen you could add would be people like Young or Anderson even?

India have really exposed us here. But at least you can say “ah well, whoever performs in this series deserves to go to The World Cup”.

I think that they are going to keep giving Munro chances, but he will continue to underwhelm. But who’s the other option if it’s not Latham or Kane?

Our batting suddenly looks weak as... I blame Sri Lanka for this!

The hard thing with Doug vs CDG is ones a batter that bowls at this level, the other is a bowler that bats. I don't rate Doug at 7, but wouldn't trust Colin with more than 5 overs as a bowler. I would take Doug to England as cover for the 8 spot with Santner, Sodhi surely by now has proved he is one of our best ODI bowlers and should play.

Hopefully the Neesham can come back at 7 and give us all some more confidence in this line up. I'm not convinced with Munro or Nicholls in their positions either, I think they are better suited in each others batting spots TBH. But that would be a bit too much of dice roll for the conservative NZ selectors.

I'm just waiting for Anaru Kitchens call up again
