*Official* India Tour of England 2018

No matter what the result in this test match is, India aren't going to do well in this series with so many batsmen having woeful techniques outside off.

One batsman and a decent bowling pack don't get you through a 5-match test series.

Inswinger pinning Kohli in front last ball.
Nah. Anderson is going to build this up slowly. Over a couple of overs I feel. Toy with Kohli for a bit. Play with his good. Flirt with the edge a couple of times. Make Kohli hyper focused on his offstump game...and then dart one back in, catch him falling over.

Hope Kohli is sharp enough to keep that out when it happens.

Pujara has to come in for Dhawan. Not that Vijay is drizzled in fairy dust.

Rahul and Dhawan may as well go full #intent tbh. Painful watching them try to judge the line outside off.

Indian batting line up:

Dhawan: Smug mad slogging shots
Vijay: Porous
Rahul: Thinks it's an odi
Kohli: Technique outside off suspect
Rahane: Off colour last 12 months
Pujara: Has forgotten how to bat
Nair: Might save us to an extent.

In short, we are doomed.
Fortunately England's batting isn't much better.

To be fair it's not like England's batting outside of Root has been that much better against the new ball in these conditions. ABC just use the ball so much better than India do, and they can sustain this quality longer than India can. Plus it helps having a strong lower order.

Unless Cook or Bairstow or someone has a big series too, this could easily boil down to Kohli + Bowlers Vs Root + Bowlers with the rest just being supporting cast. Admittedly England's supporting cast seems a lot stronger now.

I don't care how many mistakes there have been and it doesn't matter what happens in the rest of the series- this is already better than the last couple of international tours we've seen combined. RSA Lanka, Windies Bangladesh and that horrible AUS ODI tour were some pretty revolting ads for cricket. This is what we want to see.
