Gutted that is the last time I will see Cook bat, work tomorrow so that is that. I hope he goes on to get a ton but more important is getting those 4 runs in the morning to end with an average of 45. Been a pleasure watching him bat over the years, might not have been easy to watch at times but he is a legend of English cricket and we won't replace him in a hurry.

As for the game, we are in a fantastic position to win from here, don't think anyone expects anything but an England win now from this position.

went to the cricket today

Indian lower-order batting was alright - Jadeja's was clearly the best innings on show today. I'd say our bowling too was alright today - but our catching, wicketkeeping and 2 terrible reviews early on let us down

Yep.

Worth noting that in this series Cook is the only opener to reach 50 and he has the two highest scores as well. That's 40 innings from openers with 1 (probably 2 tomorrow) 50s.

Almost as bad as the Aus in SL series.

For the second time in 3 years, England have won a 5 Test series despite an opener playing the whole series without scoring a fifty.

Wouldn't mind seeing a traditional type of end to this one, ie England bat most of today to get a lead of approaching 400 (Cook tonning up of course) and then India batting out time

Jennings averages 1.33 in the series against balls hitting the stumps (Source - Cricinfo)

He hasn't been defending though, played no shot at all in both those dismissals.
Part of defending is making sure that if you do misjudge the line of the ball (which happens to everyone), the ball hits your pad and at least forces the umpire to make a decision, rather than getting bowled.

How many tests do you give an opener? They are basically all garbage to start, and it's a lot harder to tell if they will cut it by watching than for normal bats

The unfortunate thing with Jennings is he's not even crap and pretty to watch like, say, Vince. He's dire, and makes your eyes bleed.

Also, if Pakistan and England play a test tomorrow, he'll comfortably be the worst fielder in the game and that's saying something.

This lead for England is beginning to look a bit ominous for India. With two set batsmen, they could really do with a wicket soon.
