We really need a spell like Moeen yesterday ripping out 3-4 in 15 minutes. England's lower order won't let that happen, though.

This series has gone a long way towards making Pandya seem like a viable number 7/5th bowler. He's not been perfect, but he's done better than I expected.

I remember saying it was pretty difficult for Buttler to contribute to an England win from number 7, add another 50 to the team score and he could prove me very, very wrong.

There are so many things we are left to wonder in this series.

England could have done much better.
India could have done much better.

So many ifs and buts. Test cricket breaks you in so many ways to make you stronger. Stokes on the balcony just now, with anguish on his features writ large. He did so well this innings and TheBloatedBrain© got him with a goddamn dart.

Excellent innings from Buttler. It won't really matter for England if their top 4 is made of paper mache as long as they keep strengthening their already great lower middle order.

They'll keep winning series at home while dropping the odd game here and there. Pretty flawed team overall but their engine room players are at their best at home.

This is a couple of ordinary sides giving us a good series as neither can take full advantage of the good positions they get themselves into. The bowling has been good, a lot of the batting has been poor and England's fielding abysmal.
