24 or 25 is a terrible avg for an AR coming lower down the order, against the older ball. What's worse is the argument given in favor of RA, wrt RJ, is that his batting is better ~ stats will unquestionably tell you that it's not the case!Those aren't really terrible averages - and the issue is that the stats only tell part of the story. Usually, when he gets a score, he looks set, has a decent score on board (30-40 something) and then throws away his wicket with very stupid shots/shot selection (see also a game earlier in this series).
See also this innings - he's a decent batsman with decent technique, he could definitely have hung around and gotten a useful score. Tried to reverse sweep Moen early on and got himself out.
Definitely & this is where I question his attitude, Jadeja for all his deficiencies gives it 110% with bat, bowl & on the field. I don't see that with Ashwin, rarely if ever.
