***Official*** India in West Indies

It better not be rain that stops India from winning a series here. If its the usual suspects, i.e toothless bowling or the collapse in batting...then at least its my fault.

I think the prince is gonna score a big one 2moro he came out with the stlylist walk then he looked up to the sky, i've seen that before look out India.

Nah, he'll wait until the series is decided.

In any case we need to keep plugging away at one end, at the minimum.

That was a joke, by the way

No I defiantly heard him say, "Look at that runup. It reminds me of Malcom Marshall."
He did say Malcolm Marshall but it misleads and is laughable only without the context.

He clearly explained that even marshall started his run up with a bit of a "curl" (his word though not a great discription) at the start of the run up. What he was referring to was the fact that Marshall, like VRV, started his run up even before he was completely facing the batsman. As he turned around at the end of his walk away from the batsman, and was approximately facing mid wicket, he would start moving which would make him take the first couple of steps in a small semi circle before he straightened and started running in towards the batsman.

Watch it tomorrow and you will see what I am trying to say.

By no means was he paying VRV a compliment by comparing him to Marshall in this respect. He might as well have said something like, "VRV polishes the ball on the inside of his left thigh" or some such thing like another bowler (great or ordinary). It was just an observation.

Like Tenulkar?:p

Yes. Neither of them are the players they once were. That, of course, does not preclude them from getting a big one here and there. You just hope you're not facing them when they revert to their old selves.

Yes, I realize that. However, I cringe a little bit inside even with such innocuous comparisons. Same thing happens when people compare Pathan to Wasim Akram.

I know what you mean. It was my first reaction too. I think they should add something like, "...but thats where the similarity ends" to put it in perspective. :)

That's what everyone in Australia said before the third Test last year. It's also what people said before the Australia series of 1999. Then again before the tour of Sri Lanka 5 years ago. Then during the England series 2 years ago.

I don't want to diminish WI's chances of fighting back, but it's a shame that India may lose a chance for a much deserved victory due to the rain.

I have a really bad feeling that the chance of an Indian non-subcontinental series win just washed away.....

/I guess we'll have another chance in 20 years...
