If i was one of the crowd in Antigua, i'd be seriously disgruntled, this practise of resting star players now and again can really hurt the spectators.

Sehwag said in the post-match that India are looking for a score of 600-650+, enough so that they don't have to bat again.

Though I think thats a bit too optimistic, a score of 500-550 is achievable, given Dravid and Kaif at the crease, plus a couple of belters to come.

A lot will depend on how the pitch behaves tomorrow morning.

I'm surpised India went in with 4 bowlers....I fully agree with Sambit Bal of Cricinfo in that, if India want to win this series and (quite possibly future away series) they've got to play five bowlers and develop Pathan as the allrounder.

Pathan will never be as a good a bowler as Wasim Akram (despite the hype) but Bal is correct in pointing out that he does have very good all round potential.
The other advantage of playing 5 bowlers is that INdia can play both Kumble and Harbhajan/Powar and spin is their big trump card in bowling.

India were criticised for playing 5 bowlers against England though. Its tricky. I'm not yet confident enough of having Pathan at 7, particularly since Dhoni is still unproven at test level too.

WI attack ain't great, but I think it'd be silly to fall into the trap of underestimating the WI. They bowled well in the first innings of the first test, very well. Let's not forget the ODIs too.

Sorry, where have I claimed to know what went on?

I haven't, and I have seen the incident.

The fact is we do not know exactly what went on out there, and can only speculate.

The other fact is that the umpires did know what went on, and didn't deem it worthy of censure.

That is easy to say with hindsight and a score of almost 400 on the board with 4 wickets down.

But what if it were 150-4 with Dhoni, Pathan and 4 more bowlers - you'd want the extra bat there.

Brutal stuff from Sehwag but his Marlon Brando The Island of Dr. Moreau look is rather disconcerting.

That was truly amazing stuff from Sehwag, absolutely trashing stuff..

i was just wondering about sehwag's landmark of scoring a 100 in session or so on.. was he aware of it??

EDIT: i know he didn't achieve that but i was just wondering if he knew it..

Yes, considering he almost got run out on the last ball. And the fact that the ball before they took a single to get him on strike when clearly two runs were there.

/And he admitted it at the end.

Yeah he knew about it alternative, because he went after it on the last ball giving himself room trying to smash it over the top, and took a silly run as well. Jaffer knew about it too, and didn't want to be the reason he didn't get it :p

Dravid you gun.
Can someone, in all seriousness, explain to me why someone who is good at something is a 'gun' in Aussie parlance?

I understand that it derived from the fastest person at sheep-sh***ing, so there may be New Zealand connotations as well.

He missed another record - Fastest Test 100 by an Indian (74 balls by Azza and Kapil).

Also another thing we must point out is that Sehwag is a big score man, once he gets past 100, he doesn't let it affect. 9 out of his 12 century scores are 180, 254, 201, 173, 164, 155, 309, 195, 147. This is truly amazing.

It just sounds good.

India 400 up at over 4 an over. In the box seat.
