Yeah India played so unbelieavably poor that they chased down a 5.5-6 rpo target in the 1st ODI, lost by 1 run in the 2nd ODI and got WI to get to the last over in the 3rd ODI. 8-)

They have performed MUCH worse before. A lot of series in early 2005 comes ot mind as examples.

So basically, no matter how badly we play, we can always say "Well, we've played worse before."

When, if ever, do we get 'there' and be the winning team....
6-1 Sri Lanka
4-1 Pakistan
6-1 England

Thanks. Come again.

India just suck overseas, like they've always done. And most likely will continue to do so in the foreseeable future.

Dave Mohammed 8.5-1-38-3

I'm a convert.
:toot:

Dave to win the Test series single handedly next. Without that pesky AA in the way, it's a sure thing.

And what's the point of all these overseas physios, coaches and geniuses ?? And do they deserve to get as much adulation and get as much money for these pathetic performances....

By the way, their Test record still sucks both at home and overseas...

Sri Lanka - give me a break - they don't count these days

MARC will be happy with this...

AA picks up a wicket with his first ball of the match...

AA has shown all those doubters that he should be written off at his peril.

Not just top wicket-taker in the series, but doing it with an E/R almost 0.5 better than anyone else!

With Gayle and Samuels bowling as they are, West Indies must have an outside chance at the World Cup?
Absolutely, better chance than India, SL, SA, NZ and those outside the top 8.

What I don't quite understand is why do India and for that matter Sri Lanka too persist with the endless supply of fast bowlers. Both countries strengths are in the spin bowling department, so why not focus in on there?

It's great to see the West Indies returning to form, hopefully they can keep it going for the World Cup next year.

Its hard to be world beaters without a quality pace attack. Even if the spinners are your focus, you need a competent pace attack to compete on non-subcontinent wickets. Earlier, when some teams from the subcontinent merely wanted to compete with the rest of the world, it was ok to just focus on one aspect of the game, but you can't be the best in the world like that.

Fair point, but weren't the WIndies pitches all pretty low and slow, so a more spin/medium pace based attack would have had more success?

You are condemned to mediocrity with that attitude. This India team will NEVER win the world cup. Sreesanth is pedestrian at best - not even close to Nehra. There is no "order" to the batting-order. No one knows their place in the batting order or on the field - did you see all the misfields and dropped catches. Confusion is the watchword.

If you don't see the obvious disunity in the team you must be watching a different game. There is no spirit in this team - they may have won in the past but there is no "one for all all for one "attitude. None. Wait till they get creamed in the Tests

Good show by West Indies, all credit for them for their excellent team play.. thoroughly deserved to win the series, India were comprehensively beaten by a better team.. Congrats to WI for that..

India can now take the positives in Sehwag returing to some decent form, and Kaif comming off the series with 3 50's.. so that is a biggest positive.. Our fast bowlers to need look on to the future using this loss as an experience... exactly like how agarkar used it on this occassion, in concentrating on line and length than just sheer pace..

I think India should have gone with Zaheer Khan in the test squad, Irfunk has been unimpressive lately while VRV is still inexperianced.

India should play with 4 bowlers in the test matches instead of 5, Munaf & Santh should be in the squad while Irfunk should be dropped from the final 11.

Here my test 11.

Jaffer
Sehwag
Dravid
Lax
Yuvraj
Kaif
Dhoni
Munaf
Harbhajan
Kumble
Santh.

After Aus if any team has a chance to win the WC then its India, infact i think that the WC final will again be played by Australian and Indian teams, who emerges victorious this time remains to be seen.

I wouldn't say that England have no chance to win the WC, but i think whatever chance they have is a very slim one.
