Arguably, Sehwag had a bigger effect on the outcome purely on reputation and delay (non-existence) of the declaration. Why does Sehwag get a higher score than Dravid? Neither of them scored any runs but Dravid's innings today was a far better and more important one than Sehwag played all series.
Correct. To add to that, Kallis scored another awesome century and then Tendulkar batted for the red ink in the fourth in a drawn game.
He's American. You're not very good at the ironic-role-swapping game are you?

Actually Sehwag's 20 and 30 odd starts in Durban were second/third highest scores in both innings and very important considering the type of the game it was.Arguably, Sehwag had a bigger effect on the outcome purely on reputation and delay (non-existence) of the declaration.
Obviously, that's too iffy to quantify.
I am not sure about that; Graeme Smith did the same against Pakistan. I think he is just a naturally defensive captain.Arguably, Sehwag had a bigger effect on the outcome purely on reputation and delay (non-existence) of the declaration.

Ensured preventing a collapse in both.
Also got a single good score at Centurion.
11 point lead over the riff raff sounds about right. For those interested - if this match ends in a draw, and England win the Sydney test, the rankings table will look like this :
1) India 128
2) Daylight
3) South Africa 117
4) England 115
5) Sri Lanka 109
6) Australia 107
Scenario 1 easily.Indian fans:
What would you prefer:
Scenario 1:
India draws this test series and wins the World Cup
Scenario 2:
India wins this test series 2-1 and doesn't win the World Cup (but still put in a strong performance).
Curious considering the commentators are talking about the WC now.
I have 476 and I'm neutral!Wow!!

Shows how well we can perform overseas if only Zaheer and Harbhajan perform as well as they can with the third bowler (Sreesanth) pitching in. If only the fourth bowler had decided to show upIt is incredible that after everything only 2 Indian batsmen averaged more than 40 in the series. Gambhir with 60 and Sachin with 82. Fair to say how India looks different when Sachin Tendulkar gets going, and how they struggle when he doesn't. The recent NZ series demonstrated that too.
For SA also, only 4 batsmen averaged above 40. Kallis leads with 166, followed by Amla - 50, and then ABdV and Prince who just about averaged 40.
And the bowlers - Steyn - 21 wickets @ 17! Morkel 15 @ 24. while for India - Zak - 10 @ 24 and Harbhajan 15 @ 29.
It has truly been a memorable series, but it is indisputable that three masters shaped it from what could have been an okay one, Tendulkar, Kallis and the peerless Steyn.
If the fourth bowler hadn't shown up at all, We'd be better of tbh.Shows how well we can perform overseas if only Zaheer and Harbhajan perform as well as they can with the third bowler (Sreesanth) pitching in. If only the fourth bowler had decided to show up
