Haha, would explain a lot. Don't really know what the deal was with them today. They all looked hung over.India's poo bowling (without letting the scoring rate get out of hand) is a deliberate ploy to take time out of the game TBH..
Yeah, and the world's best fielder.I hope not for South Africa's cause. De Villiers is a thoroughly average wicketkeeper.
He just bowled line and length and picked up 5-6 wickets in the last Test against NZ.. including a few tailenders. He manages to keep a less **** average than Sreesanth while bowling equally crap as well as not throwing in the occasional jaffa.. not sure how he does it.Haha yeah AWTA. That 3fa he picked up against Australia was hilarious.
How much legs do you reckon Kallis has as a bowler in test cricket ? I know his pace hasn't dropped off but his effectiveness might have. Probably good as a change bowler.De Villers doesn't want to keep and has been averaging about 1000 of late as a specialist batsman, Kuhn has been awesome domestically and they have Kallis as the fifth bowler anyway so another allrounder wouldn't add anything. The chances of De Villers getting the gloves in Tests at the moment are basically 0, I'd think.
Why ?Good record at Cape Town, averages 28 and the choke job he did on Sachin and Dravid in 2007 in the same fixture won South Africa that test match and the series. Likely to be Harro's last test match as well.
Career average is worse than Sree's tbf. Sree's just had a particularly crap year.He just bowled line and length and picked up 5-6 wickets in the last Test against NZ.. including a few tailenders. He manages to keep a less **** average than Sreesanth while bowling equally crap as well as not throwing in the occasional jaffa.. not sure how he does it.
Tahir is eligible now.Why ?
Should be Kuhn but maybe Gary Kirsten will continue with Bouch. Just think it will be a good time post WC to relieve Smith of the captaincy and pension Bouch.Who is next in line? Will they play a batsman/all rounder at 7 and make Abdv keep or is it going to be Heino Kuhn?
Indeed, he's wasted with the glovesYeah, and the world's best fielder.
He's still comfortably good enough to act as the fifth bowler. Realistically I still think he's a better bowler than Lopsy who bats #11.How much legs do you reckon Kallis has as a bowler in test cricket ? All he got was an Injured Mac twice and some talienders IIRC. Was a 7-fer. Atleast Sree gets the good ones when he does get wickets. He just bowled line and length and picked up 5-6 wickets in the last Test against NZ.. including a few tailenders. Kirsten's the favourite to take over South Africa's coaching position.
Overs have dropped off and he's averaging well over 40 over the last 2 years. But like I said and you agreed, could be good as a change bowler. It must come into their minds though when selecting a team now. 2 spinners might not be an option too often any more. He's still comfortably good enough to act as the fifth bowler. Boucher's been a liability for a while now - he's nowhere near as reliable with the bat and his keeping has been getting progressively more sloppy. If he was replaced six months ago it wouldn't have been too soon.Should be Kuhn but maybe Gary Kirsten will continue with Bouch. Just think it will be a good time post WC to relieve Smith of the captaincy and pension Bouch.
It's not already filled full time ?Kirsten's the favourite to take over South Africa's coaching position.
Yeah, I read about that. Got the impression from reading about him that he is more suited to ODIs; not sure about that though, as I have never seen him bowl. And isn't Botha higher in the pecking order ?Tahir is eligible now.
