Kallis, Harris and Lonwabo (yes, still) have to be attacked...That's the golden way for us...
I'd be going after Lonwado but I certainly wouldn't be cover-driving him loosely. Opens up so many modes of dismissals on a pitch like this.

Kallis is hard to get after. He gets a bit of outswing on a decent length outside off stump, what kind of shots do you propose they play against him?

Harris gets off on being attacked. I'd just play naturally against him (obviously in the case of a lot of Indian batsmen against spin, that means aggression).

Meh, if Tsotsobe bowls half volleys outside off, it's fine to go after them. But don't be a douche and edge them, like Rahul. Hit them to the bloody boundary.

Anything on the stumps from Kallis and Tsotsobe other than the bouncers should mean runs in the leg side.

And the short ones outside off should be cut. Pujara and Laxman are good enough for that.

I really don't think it's a percentage shot for these guys when the ball's swinging. The lineup has a bit of bias towards back-foot play.

What will India need to lead by to become favourites with the bookies?

Right now SA at $1.85 to India $2.32.

It's hard to tell the difference. That's how Mitchell Johnson got his wickets for the first year of his test career.
Except Mitch was bowling those over the wicket.

If Tsotsobe is bowling half volleys coming around the wicket, the only reason you will be dismissed is if you play the ball poorly. At test level on a pitch like this you can't not put away bad balls because you may play the ball like a ********, which Rahul did.

I agree re: Steyn and perhaps Kallis if he's swinging it out.
