I'll just try and change topics here:

Changes for the SA and India teams going into Cape Town?

Munaf for VRV is a given, but do Sehwag and/or Jaffer stay in the team? Or does Gambhir slot in for one of them? Has Dhoni done enough to keep his place?

What about SA, if Kallis is fit and can't bowl, who do they drop? Just sub him in for Amla? What about Steyn if he's fit, does he come back for Morkel or has Morkel done enough? And lastly, commentators mentioned that SA should play a spinner (forgot his name), will they?

Geeez the Indians had it tough... many decisions going against them... SS was as mad as any cricketer i have seen haha

great test match though.....
This is how test cricket should be played :D Very intense and in your face

I hope ppl who say test cricket is boring watched it or something...had a lot of Ashes 05 written about it.. ie. Quality fast bowlers on supporting wickets bowling bouncers and the kitchen sink at tailenders fighting for their country...

Great effort by Sreesanth, Zaheer, Kumble... had their top order done a bit better India would be leading 1-0 by now...but its 1-1 heading into the final test at Kingsmead
Lol I was thinking the same thing, it really did have an Ashes 2005 feeling to it on the last day. Third test at OT in particular (except no Indian batsman pulled a Ponting :().

And the bowling wasn't as good. It was good but its not like it was reverse swinging like crazy.

As I said in the post above...

Gambhir for Jaffer
Sehwag down the order
Dhoni/Ganguly to open
Munaf for VRV
Ganguly opening? You crazy? And you want to open our keeper? You even crazier?

Except for Munaf for VRV, none of your suggestions make sense.

  • Drop VRV
  • Drop Sehwag
  • Drop Tendulkar
  • Drop Ganguly
  • Drop Laxman
  • Drop Jaffer
  • Drop Dhoni

Someone needs to explain the Dhoni temperament to me...again. I thought I had it, but its gone again.
Dude I don't get it either. Perhaps some cricketers are born aggressive and eventually crack and play a rash shot. He had played an absolute gem of an innings until then too.

No - someone (ie. you) accusing the umpires of cheating.
Yeah... the indian supporters no nothing better than to just accuse the umpires. oh i don't know maybe it was all those stupid decisions that went in favour of SA ? 8-)
Not least of all the one that ended the match...
yes i udnerstand the whole bad decisions is all part and parcel of the game and i only stated that it just makes you wonder what the hell is going on when decision after decision is going against you. I think you'd be crying foul play too if you're team lost......

anyway i'll probaly get over it by tomrrow...

Worst thing was how the commentators picked it, and said he was getting impatient. 2 balls later, he's out. He's too predictable. We called this series his last chance, well he's hanging by a thread.

I hope Sreesanth didn't injured his elbow.
Does anyone like the odds of both openers being dropped and Dravid opening?

I think I'd stick with Jaffer to be honest but it wouldn't shock me if the selectors thought otherwise. The only thing that is really stopping them is the fact that the only backup batsman on tour is Karthik...

Gambhir is on tour too.

Pretty obvious IMO. Drop Sehwag for Gambhir and VRV for Munaf. Dhoni has done enough to get the 3rd test. He played a terrible shot but he still played a good innings in the end; at least, it was better than anything anyone else managed.

Jaffer, Sehwag, Dravid*, Tendulkar, Laxman, Ganguly, Dhoni+, Kumble, Zaheer, Sreesanth, Munaf

No Dravid opening, our best batsman opening, if he goes, imagine what will happen to our middle order!

Trust me Dhoni or Ganguly with Gambhir!
