***Official*** India in South Africa

Dravid

What an upper cut by Sachin

And I seriously think the umpires are afraid of Andre Nel....no joke.

And thats the 50 partnership. But they need to keep carrying on and one of them at least needs to make a century.

300 should be their target at this point.

but why the hell did India look to bat here? I seriously doubt if Kumble can do a Warne or Murali in the 4th innings.
Although it was a strange decision to me as well, Kumble could be a handful on a pitch that already has uneven bounce and cracks on the first day.

yeah, and I guess this particular RSA side aren't the best at handling spin either. Let's see how it all pans out.

Sachin gone. Finally got a decent amount of runs under his name, and a good inning on a tough batting pitch

FFS! He was looking great! Had toughed it out with Dravid and things were looking on the up. Fair ball from Kallis though.

I haven't been this nervous watching a test match since Australia's tour of India in 2004. Am well and truly crapping myself, especially when we were 2-14.

A good thing that openers did, even though they didn't score....they lasted some overs so at least the ball was a little worn out when the middle order came. Thats very important IMO. If you can't score runs, at the very least you should stay out there a while.
If that's their job, let's bring back Akash Chopra.

The fact is, though they were done by good balls, both Jaffer and Sehwag were aided by some wide bowling by Steyn. Steyn bowled 3 overs with both openers barely having to touch it.

I understand what you're saying, but I reckon it was more SA's fault. Pollock should get the new pill with Ntini still, Steyn's still a little bit raw. At least give Pollock the new ball on a wicket like this.
