They should give him at least 10 to 12 tests... after that we shall see. With Jansen showing something in this match could put real pressure on Wiaan. I can see them dropping Maharaj for next match in Jhb so they can play both Jansen and Mulder. . Don't agree with it but can see it happening.
Thats whats gonna happen

Mulder
Jansen
Rabada
Olivier
Ngidi

Whatever it takes!!!
Very enjoyable and professional display there to get the win. I mentioned this at the end of Day 1's play, this is the easiest and calmest I have felt watching us play a SENA test. Long may it continue.

I get that the popular narrative is now shifting to dropping Pujara but my view has always been the one who has been mediocre the longest goes first and unfortunately in this side, that is Rahane. That said, he looked the best batsman from both sides during the time I did watch him bat this test. Totally unruffled and in command, and looked like he could hit a boundary any time he wanted. So I dont think there will be any changes unless there are any injury concerns.

And Siraj definitely should be both fined and slapped with a demerit point. That was just so uncalled for and stupid and just plain wrong.

RSA are gonna hit us with a green mamba at Jo'burg and bring in Olivier for Maharaj. I am not too sure that is the best thing to do but it would be fun to watch us play there. I would still play Ashwin though. I never see why you would need 5 proper seamers on any track. Although I guess with their part timers being Elgar and Markram, it means they will have a decent enough backup spin option.

Yeah I really hope they dont make this mistake again. They did this last time at Joburg and it was a massive blunder. only reason it worked was because SA made the same mistake. Dropping ashwin would be dumb but hey if Kohli really wants to do it badly, select a batsman instead.

If we need to use Elgar and Markram we in far more trouble than that... I`m hoping its not to green. Don't need that if we bowl properly i.e. better. I don't expect it but will love to bring in Rickelton and Verreynne in for QDK and VDD. Drop Markram to 4. They will likely and foolishly leave Maharaj out this next match

Awesome win. Pretty meek by SA in the end.
that sums it up in one.
the word MEEK is a well used one on this occasion.
SA were absolutely DIABOLICAL today.
presuming that there would be no rain or loss of play, all they had to do was bat, and they would have the runs LONG before the close of play.
but should they have been trying to get any runs at all? maybe not initially, but runs flowed for small periods and SA after 45 mins had 36 runs.
here they appear to have taken the mentality of ''we can win''this match in fact, runs coming easily and look, sky's are blue and sunny.
the downfall started when the ROCK Dean Elgar tried to whip a straight ball through the square leg, mid wicket region.
Quinton de Kock played like there wasn't a care in the world, he was scoring a ton and SA were winning.
he played ridiculous reverse sweep shots, had many wild swings, and worst of all almost had a run out, looking for a single you wouldn't take in a 20/20.
from there it looked like at lunch it was agreed losing quickly would get the next flight outta town.
what if the rain, which at the moment is still scheduled, comes along and ends proceedings? wouldn't you feel stupid as the batting team?
really poor tactical manoeuvres from the Proteas today, surprised that a nation with such a passion in sport, couldn't have gone to extra lengths
in battle, and at least attempt to DRAW the test match, they need to take some inspiration from the SPRINGBOKS.

Let’s give India some credit here - this is an ATG pace bowling attack (taken as a whole) playing on a helpful track. The pressure was relentless. Chasing over 300 in Centurion was a statistical impossibility. It wasn’t an embarrassing performance by SA.

as an India fan this may have been the most satisfying if not the most thrilling of our recent overseas wins. Pretty clinical and other than the collapse from 272/3 were on top the whole way through and never let SA back.
