I now that the pitch is doing stuff... but some of the brain dead shots and poor technique in both sides really is making it worse than it needs to be.

I mean, the former usually causes the latter, esp. with the T20 gen batsmen that these guys are. The 00s guys had grown up with only tests and ODIs and the odd T20. But the post IPL generation definitely struggle at all this.

One of the selection issues with Jansen at 7 is that they seem to be going for all this 'experience' for top 6 when selecting, then throw the young 21 year old in his second test at 7, who has not even scored a FC century... talk about just getting it wrong in every way.
