I ranted about this to all my teammates in a big whatsapp chat, literally no one seemed to share the same sentiments. Even got laughed at for suggesting Ishant has improved. Best thing for my reputation now would be Bumrah to bowl trash again and Rohit to make a pair before Rahane heroically saves the series in the next Test along with a Yadav 10 fer.

That would teach the mouth breathing neanderthals.

Forgot to mention this yesterday but the crowd yesterday was fantastic especially for a working day.
Its not really full on work yet for most people. Lots only restarting on Monday. So that probably.
Cape Town does get the test crowds in SA by some distance thought.

It's far too late to fix that now.
Sachin became much tighter with his judgement outside offstump and shot selection as his career progressed. If you could somehow fuse 2008-11 Tendulkar's brain onto the 1998 version's body, that would be something special.

Standard old people complaint?.... wisdom with the ability to actually do something with it. Never seems to happen though....

Yeah, but Kohli can still work on leaving more balls outside offstump, it''s not too late for that.

That ball from Morkel was very good, granted and would have got most batsmen out. But I commented a few deliveries before that he seemed so impatient and eager to feel bat on ball. So it was just a matter of time.

Just being facetious... he should not really have played at that, particularly as it was Morkels first ball, it was an automatic action partly because he likes bat on ball. As you say, he can work on leaving some of those balls further outside off stump.

When did this happen? I had no idea he was a club bowler now.

Nah, I agree with Overratedsanity. Kohli reaches far too many deliveries outside off and it is not easy to rectify it at all. Every one seems to think he is this great test batsman while he is not.

One of the facets of S achin's greatness was that he was able to evolve and adopt his game over time. Very few players, even the great ones are able to do it.

Ishant has bowled really well last couple of years but no one would no that if they didn't actually watch tests.

I don't believe it's too late if he actually considers it a problem and makes an effort to address it.

Look at Warner. Look at the way he has batted in this Ashes. Guy was batting at a SR of 30 in Melbourne.Did anyone think it was possible? If it's not too late for Warner, it's not too late for Kohli. The question is whether he realizes this and is prepared to work to address it.

From what we know of him, he does want to be the best so he will get to it.
