***Official*** India in South Africa 2017/18

U19 Debutant
Just the start India needed. But look at where the ball pitched, the batsman jumped, got hit on the knee roll and it was still hitting the wicket. That is a slow wicket.

Ashwin should enjoy it though.

Bumrah silencing his haters.
Apart from rohit over rahane I dont see anything for indian fans to be outraged over. Looks like kohli has made good choices

I don't think Markram could have done anything about that. Jagged back ridiculously.

Starc is more genuinely destructive though. Morkel somehow seems to just end up with 4/70 somehow and it isn't clear how.
Morkel and Stuart Broad have similar career figures (Morkel might even be ahead), but Broad's miles ahead in terms of impact.

It's kind of like that "does conversion matter if your batting average is high" thing but applied to bowlers. Is it better to be a consistent if somewhat underwhelming contributor, or be an erratic gamebreaker who can win a match in half an hour?

While Test series are the length that they are, I'd always pick the latter first tbh, but you need both.

250 you would be favourites but it would only need one innings in the batting side to make them slight favourites. Great to have a well set up test after so many one sided games in the last year.

Cricketer Of The Year
KOHLI. Dies for the cause everytime, just like Lara. Doesn't bother with not outs once again.

He has 6 double tons, at least 4 of them could have been easy not outs, but in situations like those, he always tries to score as many as he can but as quickly as possible and hits out before declaration or before getting bowled out. Doesn't try to inflate his average, unlike a certain other player who I have seen do the exact opposite on several occasions.

man it's wild how one guy scores a really good hundred and then there are suddenly lemons everywhere
