Great stuff from Kohli. Since he's probably going to be the best player from our team in this game, I imagine he'll be consistent and drop himself for the next.

He didn't have too many options... throwing your bat in the company of guys like Bumrah and Ishant always comes with a big risk. Done well to get this close considering Pandya's idiocy. Ashwin played a really good hand but there's been very little else.
I was making a joke about "dying for the cause" tbf

Your problem is I am not hyping an innings which was good but not remarkable. Any top batsman should be scoring on these pitches, in conditions with no swing. Kohli did not look good just last week in conditions which were only slightly off for batsmen, and looked lost in his own some series against Australia on some rank turners. So excuse me if I don't go crazy for a flat track bully.

In terms of the match, a lead of 28 is very useful, if the ball doesnt turn, SA have enough time to get another 300 and put India in later tomorrow, with enough time, maybe, to ball them out.

I personally think it will be a draw.

It's all about mind-set for SA batsman. You came into this test match not expecting to face Ashwin in a situation like this. Up to them to adapt and show they can stand up and put India under pressure again.

If this pitch deteriorates like it is. I would be surprised if the test goes past session one on day 5.

Rabada was the best bowler in the innings... and walks away with the worst figures. How very cricket.
Morkel with very flattering figures.. didn't bowl that well at all. Though I suppose cleaning up the tail is a useful skill in itself.

But damn.. this series is delivering big time so far. Already one of the better series I've watched.

Your problem is you are a hater. Im no kohli fan but it was indeed a remarkable innings. Pretty flawless.

Very and on a flat pitch for quicks.

One thing you can never take away from Morkel is even after bowling so many overs on a wicket like this and banging it in, he never loses his pace.

22.1 overs the most by a Saffer and there was a spell where he probably forced Pandya into his shell yesterday evening.

Nobody is calling him the best batsman ever or ignoring his failings, people are just appreciating what he's done here and it's undoubtedly a high quality innings.
