really didn't expect this at the start of the day, rapt for India, already excited about some of these young batsmen, 350 should be the goal now

Excellent stuff from these two at the end. I was afraid Dhoni and co would fold to the new ball after Kohli went but very good little period at the end to see off the day.

Good day for India overall. Considering what many were expecting to happen, outstanding

I only saw last few overs. How is the pitch? I have feelings if India can get to 350, they will end up winning this match. :(

So proud today. Pujara, Kohli and Rahane (pretty much the 3 from whom I was expecting it from) showed so much patience, temperament and class. Wonderful show. I thought the SAF pacers did a really good job, pretty much the stuff I was expecting from them.

Kohli running out Pujara pretty much the only low point of the day. I don't count Dhawan's "hook" because you could see it was coming. He simply doesn't look to have much of a brain inside that cranium of his. Vijay's batting as expected as well. Nervous and impatient. To say "he has fallen to his habit of flirting with balls outside the off-stump" is just not good enough. Rohit needs to work on his drive, but he was fine till he was there.

Looking forward to tomorrow! :)

The conditions are quite suitable for Ishant Sharma's style of bowling, an opportunity for him to get back in form.

Couldn't watch the game but it looks like Tahir's selection was a real gift. If they had picked another pace bowler they could have bowled less of Duminy too so perhaps 30-40 extra runs for India and maybe more later on. What were they thinking? I suppose they didn't want to drop Tahir after his performance against Pakistan and maybe they thought this new Indian batting lineup is a bit vulnerable to spin after the England series.

Form of leaking 1000's of runs I assume? Well it will definitely happen, would be surprised to see his figures 1/150 or similar at 1st innings, Amla and Kallis will cream on him whole day Peterson too will love,

Pleasant surprise seeing us only 5 down. I went to sleep with us 2 down for some 30 or so and was dreading the score I would wake up to. Impressive from Kohli, Rahane and Pujara. If we can push to 350 it could be a tough game for South Africa.

Also Tahir is crap. The couple of overs I saw of his consisted of 2-3 long hops and a couple of full tosses.
