Uhh... you're considering the first two tests which were on a flat pitch. If Karachi is going to be like that, I'd say yes, preserve Shoaib since he wont make a difference. But if its going to be green and bouncy, then Shoaib will be a much better option than any of your other medium pacers.

Without Shoaib, Pakistan's attack comes down very close to India's... Their attack will still be slightly better than India's but the main reason why Pak's bowling attack is seen to be much superior when compared to India's is because of Shoaib and Shoaib ALONE.

not only contend, the indian pace attack is better than the pak pace attack without akhtar. zaheer, rp singh and pathan on a greentop is more dangerous than rana naved, mohammad asif and mohammad sami (or umar gul). akhtar is the lone world-class fast bowler in the scene right now, the only one who can consistently trouble the world-class Indian batsmen.

If there is a difference its only a slight one. Pathan has been struggling lately and can't be rated very high, RPS has just begun his career.Of all the three bowlers ZK seems to be doing good.Pakistan attack of Rana,Asif and Gul on a green top wkt is a very capable one.

The only reason as to why Pak might suffer defeat at the hands of Indians on green top is because India have world class batsmen who are better equipped to bat on such surfaces as compared to Pak batsmen.

If its a green top then it will interesting to see Ganguly play the match. He might prove useful with the ball and yet might struggle with the bat.If he fails with the bat then he will be dumped from the team forever, however if he score on the greentop, then Indian management will have a real headace for futute matches!

yes that would be best for pakistan, razzaq won't be very dangerous as a bowler and they are better off with a batsman considering india might go in with 6 specialist batsmen as well.

I am not sure I care anymore.. what a rubbish series thanks to crap pitches. A complete let down so far.

I'm even more interested now, despite this series being useless so far. Just think of it as a one-off test with the stakes very high, a series-clincher between two fierce rivals. As long as we don't get another dead track ... let's pray. I don't want another pathetic run-fest. We need a result or a hard-fought draw here, whether it's India or Pakistan that comes out on top, we need some good cricket and not some dead-track ********.

Akhtar has confirmed that he's fit, and the chances of Inzi playing seems to be bright.In case Inzi don't play then Faisal Iqbal will take his place.

Facts about Current karachi pitch!

So far three domestic matches have been played, two of them ended in 2 & 1/2 days!! while the third one ended on the fourth day.The wkt favors pace bowler, and if they don't shave of the grass then this wkt is likely to produce result.

It can be a great test match.
