***Official*** India in Pakistan

IKP gets the wkt of Mohd Waseem :)

Pak A are 32-2 in reply to India's huge total.

Interestingly nearly the same Pak A team defeated the English team in the side match but is struggling badly against the Indian team, particularly the bowlers were at the mercy of Indian batters (all six Indian batsmen scored 50+ runs!!!!!).This shows the strength of the Indian team, in particular its world class batsmen.I think getting 20 Indian wkts will be a very difficult job for the weak Pak bowling lineup.

Pakistan 130-2 after 26 overs.

Imran Farhat - 81 of 107 balls
Hassan Raza - 36 of 31

Hasan Raza who was useless against England in the Tests gets 75 from 62 balls.

Looks like it'll be just the same 2 quicks and 2 spinners in the Indian side for the Tests.

Gunawardene was the only opener the Lankans had fielded then, and he's scored runs in the past. Dilshan was scoring runs in bulk for his team, while the others flopped. QUOTE]

first of all have you heard of the name Atapattu and he played all the matches so gunawardene was not the only lankan opener. Second of all as for gunawardene scoring runs in the past (hahahaha) the man averages 16 in test matches. Also dilshan scored 170 runs in 3 test matches which is not the bulk of runs for the team also his highest score was 65. If you want to know who scored the bulk of the runs it would have been Jayawardene my friend who scored over 250 runs at an average of 51. So please get the facts write before you start to type.

You know what there is a 22 yard thng on a cricket field its called the "Pitch" and some times it is helpfull for the bowlers and sometimes for the batsman .In englnds match it was more supporting to the bowlers and in this game its in the batsman favour.Get it Einstein.

Hey GIB in the 3 warm up games none of the Pak A batsman cored a ton against england but against India a ton has already been scored by Farhat, now should we assume based on your criteria that India's bowling is lesser then england.

Never mind the fact that this wicket appears to be a road, and two months ago we played on minefields...

Whatever it takes!!!
Imran Farhat is forcing himself back into contention. That is good to see. I always rated him above the likes of Umar and even Malik.

Disappointing figures for Zaheer. He would have liked a much better return for India, practice match or not. Agarkar will likely keep his spot alongside Pathan.

This was a road, if you go by what Pakistani fans were saying. Zaheer (why was he bowled second-change?) should be the first-choice seamer alongside Irfan, and this practice match result shouldn't make any difference– the Indians lost the practice OD before the series started, but won the ODI and Test series. An attack of four bowlers including Agarkar and one spinner can't take 20 wickets.

A excellent comeback for Pakistan A as they make 212/4 with Farhat making 107 and Hasan Raza making 75 off 62 balls. It was nice to see Hasan Raza doing well. I always knew that Hasan Raza has the talent and he should be in this Pakistan team. But somehow, he has rarely lived upto his talent. Also, both Farhat and Hasan Raza, pressed their case for a comeback into the Pakistan team.

India, also played well with everyone from the top 6 scoring a half-century. Now, all 8 of Indias batsmen have made a half-century in the last match played by them. Sehwag and Ganguly, hit 50s in the ranji-match. It is always good to have the whole batting line-up in form at the beginning of an important series.

This is going to make for a tough decision as to who should partner Sehwag in the first test. Jaffer deserves it on form and Gambhir on continuity and international record (though not lacking in form really) ... they should just ask Chappell to make the choice.
If it is a seamer-friendly pitch, they should go for either
Sehwag, Gambhir, Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Pathan, Agarkar, Kumble, Zaheer
OR
Sehwag, Gambhir, Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman, Ganguly, Dhoni, Pathan, Agarkar/Zaheer, Kumble, Harbhajan

What international record? He has been poor in tests so far if you exclude minnows.

Also why should they just ask Chappell to make the choice. The final decision should remain with the captain.

I don't know why this discussion is taking place. Gambhir is the Test Opener along with Sehwag. Gambhir hasn't done anything wrong, to warrant being dropped. He is still very young, let him be.

If you want to bring Jaffer in, look elsewhere for a weakness.

I would love to see Jaffer in as a fan.

But there is a case for both - continuity for Gambhir, superb form for Jaffer.

I dont know why you are alleging me on a discussion of Indian test opener and how you can assume Gambhir is the test opener along with Sehwag. Gambhir hasnt been performing in tests. That is what he has done wrong if you want to know.

And he would have to perform to remain in the side if he is given a run despite his poor test perforance so far.
