End of a great innings from Inzi! When he originally walked in, India could have taken control of the game, what with the quick dismissals of Yunis and Yousaf. Well played Inzi. Good bowling by Zaheer.

These pitches are just plain ridiculous. No way bowlers can get a whole team out in less than 2 days. If this were Kolkata people would be rioting by now

Let's see if the pitch breaks on the 3rd day. That would be bad for India.

Can Asif bat?

Shoaib not hanging around now. When you see him hit like this, its suprising the guy averages 9 with the bat, his so much better and he can defend when need be.

The flat-as-a-pancake pitch makes tailenders look like opening batsmen....:-O

Rudi taking lessons from Bucknor in arrogance and stupidity:

134.4 Kumble to Mohammad Asif, no run, full toss on the stump, Asif
flicks down onto his boot and straight to forward short leg! That
is out but Koertzen does not agree and doesn't even consult the
third umpire

These guys at the ICC are clowns and the rules they make just as funny

That's the 2nd one Rudi got wrong. On such flat wickets with batsmen getting out rarely it should be a crime to not even consult the 3rd umpire. What a moronic thing to do...

They need to implement a policy that whenever there is ANY DOUBT the umpire should consult the 3rd umpire.

And, as you said, we should bash these imbeciles (spending our money in high-tech HQs in Dubai no less) in the ivory tower every half-chance we get. :@

Lol. What happened? Couldn't watch today.
He cam out very late/slow. That would warrant a consideration to see the time one would think. Then further time was wasted on asking for a runner though that maynot come into the timing for time out.

If the umpires are sure there is no need to consult the third umpire. Why waste time.

Getting a call correct and making doubly sure is not wasting time. Inzi walking in at the rate of 10inches/minutes is wasting time.

Well, India have to bat well obviously. As Dravid said at the end of yesterday's play, they have to think about the Adelaide test in 2003 where they conceded over 500 runs in the first innings and still won the match. Its possible to do it again, though obviously a ridiculously tough ask. Especially with a batsman less.

That being said I don't find Pakistan's attack that intimidating. Shoaib is world class, Kaneria is a very good spinner and Afridi can be dangerous, but I don't rate Razzaq at all in tests (and his ODI bowling isn't what it used to be anyway), and Asif is inexperienced. Hopefully India can take advantage of this.

So even the umpires are sure on a decision, they should consult the third umpire and make it doubly sure? You have said this is a flat track, this that. Surely so much of time wasting will not lead to any thing except drastic fall in number of overs bowled. And there is no reasoning to do that.
