Oh please! Inzi and Woolmer can give advice to the curator, .
Over there the curator have to listen to the captain and the coach, and it looks to me that Inzi and Bob made the curator shaved off the grass in order to save Pak batsmen from being tormented by Indian pacers led by Irfan Pathan

As usual, nehrafan, vandemataram and the lot have descended on cricketweb right before an Indo-Pak series. Should be interesting if Pak manage to do well :P

Does anybody reckon we'll again have Agarkar in the next match? He did manage to pick up maximum wickets but DAMN that guy! Trust him to bowl absolutely horrendous and yet get maximum wickets. Any predictions on the Indian XI ?

By not letting Ganguly open on the flattest wicket ever, I doubt they would want him to open again, so -

Sehwag
XXXXXX
Dravid
Tendulkar
Laxman
Ganguly
Yuvraj
Dhoni
Pathan
Zaheer
Kumble
Harbhajan

With either Dravid, Pathan, Dhoni or Laxman being sacrificed to the opener slot depending on match situation.

lol, same Irfan Pathan who has 35 wickets and averages about 45 in 15 matches( if you exclude his games against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh because 39 of his total wickets have come against them from just four games!)

That indeed is a extraordinary record to chicken Pakistanis out from preparing a bowler friendly pitch.

As unfortunate as it is, you'd have to think Dravid will be the one after his performance in Lahore. Hopefully the pitch isn't lifeless this time so we get to see Kumble, Pathan, Akhtar and Kaneria do their stuff and Ganguly fight for his career.

with the constant bickering of the supporters of both sides, this thread has nothing positive to contribute and is just a major waste of time.

PCB should hang their heads in shame. Along with BCCI and ICC. Very odd and indefensible choice of venues. Evryone said these venues would not be amenable to cricket at this time of the year. So, who cares. Us idiot fans keep coughing up the money and the administrators and cricketers keep stuffing their pockets.
Cricket ? What's that ?

Fate of 2nd Test hangs in balance as rain lashes city

By a Correspondent

Faisalabad, January 18, 2006

With rain lashing the city from past two days and a downpour forecast for tomorrow, the fate of the crucial second cricket Test between India and Pakistan starting here from Saturday hangs in balance.

As the severe cold wave is sweeping across the region, it is likely to have major effect on the proceedings of the game slated to be played at Iqbal Stadium. "After several decades, this area is witnessing such a severe cold and that has hampered the pitch preparation at the Iqbal Stadium", Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) chief curator Agha Zahid said.

"I just can't go against nature. I can prepare a track as good as the conditions allow me to. It rained yesterday and there is a prediction for more rain. So what do you expect me to do in such situation", countered Zahid.

"There is a little grass on the track but it is dead grass and where do you expect me to get that green grass? I am not a magician". The curator however had a special word of thanks for Indian skipper Rahul Dravid, who did not criticize him for the track in Lahore.

Zahid also cautioned the teams of another problem that of bad light. The second Test is also likely to be hit by bad light - apart from bad weather - and poor visibility may play havoc with the proceedings of the game as it happened in Lahore. Meanwhile, Indian team drove down from Lahore and arrived here this evening.

I've just read that the big guy's (Inzi) fav food is chicken, looks like lately he's turning into chicken himself too!
When I last met Inzy, I actually asked him what his favourite foreign food was.

He said "Indian".

Gambhir Gambhir Gambhir Gambhir Gambhir Gambhir......or maybe Jaffer.

Don't, and I repeat, DON'T, tamper with such a crucial position as that. It could lead to batting collapses and a batting side under pressure.

Funny. He said snorkers when I asked him.
Hello Sailor!

Snorkers is naval slang, is it not? Could one of our Pompey or Southampton-based members help me out here (If you're not too busy at the moment with a matelot, that is)
