For the sake of history, I really hope it rains all day tomorrow.
Probably produce a bigger crowd.luckyeddie said:For the sake of history, I really hope it rains all day tomorrow.
Told ya. Just because England got mauled by the Pakistan bowling attack on a relatively flat wicket doesn't mean they will do it to every team on flat wickets. Particularly since this wicket is even more flat and slower.luckyeddie said:I said on day 1 that there was a good chance of a Pakistan victory, that they would declare after reaching 650 or so and putting India in around tea on day 2 (got those bits pretty well spot on).
That's all I was referring to.
Wow, you were right, 403-0 (unless they come back on after taking the light. Seems unlikely).sheerindianspeed said:What's the bet on Pakistani bowlers getting a single Indian wkt today?
Sorry but I didnt think there was any thing 'great' in the batting effort of India or Pakistan in this test match. People were going gaga when Afridi and Akmal were making runs as well. Memories of Chris Gayle's knock and that India-Sri Lanka test match comes to mind.social said:Great effort by the Indian batsmen to score the way the have when faced with a mountainous total.
Aw, come on. Lara's Quad-century wouldn't have exactly been scored a mine-field. Anyway, wonder how long, if Sehwag does jag the record, it will take Lara to snatch it back this time!luckyeddie said:For the sake of history, I really hope it rains all day tomorrow.
Not talking about that at all - I'm talking about the world test record opening partnership.howardj said:Aw, come on. Lara's Quad-century wouldn't have exactly been scored a mine-field. Anyway, wonder how long, if Sehwag does jag the record, it will take Lara to snatch it back this time!
*Test record opening partnership. The FC record is 561 (Waheed Mirza/Mansoor Akhtar, Karachi Whites v Quetta at Karachi, 1976/77).yohanna said:India just need 14 runs to break the world record of 413 runs (opening partnership)!!!
He went wicketless in 3(?) tests, didn't he ? Even Agarkar managed a wicket here ..SJS said:Just as an aside.
There are some people who deny (as if it matters) Dennis Lillee his rightful place as one of the greatest bowlers of all time because he went to Pakistan and faced wickets like this (confirmed yesterday by Imran on the Straight Drive show) and was moved to call Pakistan the 'graveyard of fast bowlers".
A bit better perspective of those figures after what happened at Lahore ?
NEVER !!howardj said:Aw, come on. Lara's Quad-century wouldn't have exactly been scored a mine-field. Anyway, wonder how long, if Sehwag does jag the record, it will take Lara to snatch it back this time!
The only people that deny the fact that Lillee is one of the greatest ever fast bowlers are those that have never seen him bowl.SJS said:Just as an aside.

Come on but we all know Agarkar is a far better bowler than LilleeDeja moo said:He went wicketless in 3(?) tests, didn't he ? Even Agarkar managed a wicket here ..
Fair enough. By the same token though, I don't think a partnership against the mite of Hayes, MacGibbon and Cave was necessarily touched by greatness.luckyeddie said:Not talking about that at all - I'm talking about the world test record opening partnership.

What's wrong with seeing a record broken?luckyeddie said:Not talking about that at all - I'm talking about the world test record opening partnership.

Honestly - I didn't show it just because it was New Zealand.Buddhmaster said:That's the most ridiculous scorecard i've ever seen
