***Official*** India in Pakistan

Yeah Agarkar is a joke as a specialist bowler. If his batting improves significantly he perhaps has a future as a batting allrounder but that is a stretch. However the fact is that India doesn't have any quality pace bowlers. Even Pathan is fairly mediocre though he perhaps has some potential to become a quality bowler.

I have only seen bits of the game on TV but I am slightly suprised that Harbhajan hasn't taken a few wickets. I saw an over of his where he got real turn and had the batsman in quite a bother.

As for the match I think Pakistan will make around 550 and it will be a big ask for India to avoid the follow-on. I expect that Shoaib will make this pitch look a lot more threatening that it looks now and it will be interesting to see what Kaneria does with the turn that seems to be there.

Other than Z Khan what pace options do India have including current squad or even back home?

these 2 batsman are murdering indian bowlers, if they can play till the end and score about 320 and then afridi coming in tommarrow will be another run-fest

Well, generally speaking India doesn't have quality pace bowlers, but now a few potential genuine quicks are emerging. Munaf Patel, VRV Singh, Sreesanth all have promise, as does RP Singh. Nehra needs to regain fitness and Zaheer needs to perform to his potential. Agarkar has been given a long run and is useless. We need to clean out these Agarkars and look to the young talents ... they're not anywhere close to world-class right now, but at least they can give India some hope of having a menacing pace attack. Pathan certainly does have potential but he needs to bowl at least in the mid 80s to be effective on a regular basis, especially as our strike bowler.

Both Kumble and Harbhajan have resorted to coming around the wicket to try and stop the runs from flowing like water.

Both look about as effective as Shaun Udal at the moment - it really is now damage limitation until the new ball is due.

Younis Khan has played some very good shots in this innings. Aside from knocking it around for quick singles and languid doubles, his cuts off Kumble have been a treat to watch.

Bit harsh on Udal there.

Obviously I'm kidding but I don't think I've seen both of them reduced to bowling so defensively since... well I guess the last time they played Pakistan

I swear, when Yousuf gets going (particularly on the sub-continent) he gets his runs so quickly that the bowling team have to resort to being defensive. Even in Australia last year he scored a very aggresive ton against a much better bowling attack than India's current one, and on a tougher track to bat on at the MCG (not a green wicket but not as flat as this if I remember correctly).

Such a devastating batsman, and whilst his average probably does flatter him a little he's still a good test player.

Interesting. Seemed like a fairly deliberate arm extension in the replay. I wonder if it would have been construed as obstructing the field had the replay been referred to the third umpire.

Could be looking at 350 in a days play, with Afridi still to come tomorrow.
Pretty frickin' scary from an Indian fan's POV. Don't forget Inzy too.

umm yeah it is. pathan needs to bend his back, agarkar needs to be dropped, harbhajan needs to get more luck and kumble needs to stop bowling loose deliveries ... and younis & yousuf need to stop playing so well

The GREAT news is that the curator of Lahore pitch has discosed that the pitch is brownish and not green top atall, and is going to take turn from the third day!!!!!

Haha ... this practically means a huge advantage to team India , as with two spinners India will blast off Pak team on a turning wkt.

India 1-0 up at Lahore Stadium :)
Inspired!

What is the point of playing test matches on dead track????

Its clear that Pak has deliberately prepared dead track to drew matches and escape defeat at the hands of Indians.Looks to me like Pak were frightened at the prospect of facing Indian bowlers on responsive pitches and thus opted for a lifeless pitch.

Pak will score a big total in first innings and India will responde by piling up a huge total , the match will eventually end in a dull draw. :@

.
ON a seaming wkt it might have been a big task, but on this wkt, it will probably be a piece of cake.
