Lol! India with 5 seamers, that just not right. What happened to the days of a million spinners? :p

Shall be interesting how this match plays out.

I'm going to have Pervaiz Musharaf make a law that Pathan CAN NOT pitch the opening over in Pakistan. That should solve this problem Pak has been having.

Thats a bit of a blunder.

Is this guy Santh really that good? he seems to be getting hammered an awful lot & I heard Srinath write that he's only bowling in the mid 130's.

yes he's bowling a few too many loose deliveries, but he's also bowling some very good ones and getting unlucky. he missed out on 2 or 3 wickets already because of dropped catches today.

India winning the toss, fielding and selecting Zaheer Khan as sub - why?!
You can do two things with your super-sub - Take a gamble and really press home the advantage if you win the toss for e.g. picking a batsman as the sub when planning to bowl first OR take the safe route and use it as a back-up option in case you lose the toss for e.g. pick a bowler while planning to bowl first (if you win the toss) in which case you either have the advantage of chosing what you want to do or have the extra bowler/batsman.

Holding saying it perfectly, 'statistics don't tell you everything'

RP Singh bowling utter rubbish and picking up 2 wickets.

Sreesanth bowling so well and he's got nothing, three dropped catches.

I'm not watching the match but was Younis' wicket off a bad ball as well? Cricbuzz says it was on a good length swinging away

Well, it was a good ball but nothing special. Apart from that, RP Singh started off quite poorly. Sreesanth deserved 2 or 3 wickets.

Sreesanth has been extremely unlucky today. 3 dropped catches. That's ridiculous. That being said, he still bowls far too many crap balls. He needs to cut down on that, but you can't exactly fault him for not taking any wickets today. He bowled 3 beauts and should have had 3 wickets.

precisely. i would've said that sreesanth should be rested for the next match as he still hasn't cut down on the loose ones. but he's bowling so many wicket-taking deliveries that he needs to stay.

Agarkar is keeping it tight. Good stuff.

I think India, for the moment, are doing the right thing playing Sreesanth and giving him the new ball, however I think if after 3-4 overs he's bowling poorly and not getting any chances of a wicket, then he should be replaced. If he bowls well, then keep him on. Today was tough because he was getting plenty of chances to take a wicket yet was getting hit at the same time.

Lol! Sachin gets Inzy.

Remember its a day/nighter. If India win the toss, they get to bowl first and everything is fine. If India lose the toss, Pakistan would presumably (although you never know with Inzy :p) bowl first. This allows India to make up with this disadvantage of having to bowl last at night with the dew by having 5 specialist bowlers. As mentioned earlier, rather than seizing on winning the toss, its the tactic of a 'back-up' if you lose the toss.

Damn it Shoaib Malik is becoming the ODI equivalent of Younis Khan to India. He's playing a fine knock here.

Why the hell did India super-sub Zaheer on for AA to bowl his last 4 overs?

Zaheer has gone for 24 runs off his first 2. Christ.
