*Official* India in Pakistan Thread

If the Indian bowlers cannot successfully defend this total it will be a disgrace. I think they will, but damn it I can't be sure with that bowling line up.

Can anyone tell me why Laxman and Pathan aren't playing, I didn't realise till I checked the scorecard.

Pakistan will win providing they get on top of Zaheer, Nehra & Balaji early.

If they do then watch the Indian bowlers collapse in spectacular fashion.

The thing is though, that the Indian bowlers have already been involved in a situation like this only days ago so really they should be well prepared as to what might happen.

However none of the Pakistan team played for the 'A' team so they have no recent experience of it...except for maybe the last ODI in Wellington v NZ.

:O 30 extras...yes 30 & thats just the no-balls & wides.

That means that not only did they give the Indians an extra 30 runs for nothing , they also gave them 5 overs to have a whack at :wow:
That could effectively have meant about 70 runs out there today , which was the difference between chasing 270 & 350.

Sami , Akhtar & Razzaq all have to take a bit more responsibility & do the work off the feild , if they continue bowling 20 no-balls in a 50 over innings then they really arent gonna win many matches are they

Presumably from what I saw of Pakistan in NZ, they probably allowed 15 or so runs in the field too..so you could say they should have had India at around 255-260.

Then again, India aren't exactly the best either in this area so it may even up.

not just that they dropped sehwag and had tendulkar caught off a no ball within the first 3 overs

Disappointing to see Karthik get hit for so many runs. Perhaps he is not bowling to Ganguly's defensive fields.

Sehwag should be used as a regular- this wicket is reason enough for that. Ganguly and Sachin should stop bowling and stick to batting and fielding- let the younger generation bowl more overs.

Sehwag is a part-timer at best and nothing more.
Unfortunately, the Indian selectors went in with four decent specialist bowlers...and no allrounder of note. That just has to backfire.

Run rate required is over 9 now. I'm pretty sure India will win and if we can get Inzamam out soon it should be in the bag. Once again I'm disappointed in Kartik, maybe its time to bring Powar in?

umm i agree with u that india are favourites but are u forgetting that the key man is razzaq?if u watched the way he smashed the kiwis in one of the ODI matches in nz u would say that 100 odd in 11 overs on a pitch like this is a piece of cake.

I watched that innings, very fun to watch :D

I think Razzaq with Inzamam could win it for them, however Inzamam is the key. I unfortunately am just keeping myself updated on cricinfo but it seems hes playing an amazing knock and he'd be the man to take them home surely.

It's going to go to the wire!

271/3 after 41 overs.

Razzaq, Malik & Moin left...i'd back Pakistan to do it.

70 odd off 50 balls needed, me thinks Razzaq is needed to take this one to the wire, all we need is inzy to run Khan out!

Balaji's figures are quite superb in the context of this match...im not surprised to see however Nehra conceding 55 off 9 overs.
