Are you suggesting that Martin Crowe has been talking about Chris Pringle and his ball tampering issue since 1990. Voltman, I dont want to detail this thread but Please do not expect me to not say anything when you start posting your nonsensical claims and theories of justification of cheating by Kiwi players themselves. Please do come up with some proofs in support of your claims which are based on the Mr. Crowe's hallucinations.

No, they didn't admit it when it happened, they remembered it when they had to sell their books. Few buck at the expense of Pakistani Cricketers, which we all know are very easy targets almost all the times isn't such a bad thing.
Look, Sanz, I'm not going to bother trying to justify myself to you. I've read dozens of pieces of journalism and/or biographies relating to that tour and the ball tampering on both sides. Do I have them with me? No. I've moved several times in the last few years and all my cricket books are in the other island of NZ.

How about you believe what you want to believe and I believe what I want to believe? That's the most mature way to deal with this. OK?

By the way if Messy Jesse stays off the booze, he will be one of our top five batsmen of all time. Make no mistake. Considering what a socially inept being he is, his mental cricketing game is unbelievable. Massive future.

Him being too social is part of the problem.

I'm with ya though, damn awesome batsman.

yah Yuvi in slips.. hopefully tmrw he gets no where near slips.

Umpiring i knw Franklin got some bad luck last game but today 1 right and 1 wrong thats not the way it should be. Referals are best used in Caught behinds i think it should be used in every series. LBW on the other hand doesnt really need referals.
To be fair, that McIntosh caught behind was a shocker. It never sounded woody, he missed the ball clearly and there was never a feeling of "he's hit that".

Though, in saying that, McIntosh probably would have got out next ball anyway.

Either Yuvraj or Gambhir has to field at slip if Sehwag wants three slips and two gullies, since Tendulkar hurt his finger and Sehwag prefers gully.
Wrong. Dravid,Laxman,Sehwag would be 3 of the best in the slips if Sachin is unavailable.

Only managed to catch a bit of today's play between uni and work. Saw Taylor go through the 90s, that was pretty painful to watch.

Fantastic to see the score at stumps, but I won't get carried away until I see how India go in response.

The Wheel is Forever
Problems with today:

1) Fielding. Wow, that was embarassing.
2) Bowling. They looked spent after a while. I felt Sehwag could have bowled a few more, I know he was expensive.
3) Field placings. Seriously, WTF?

NZ are really well and truly ahead, and should definitely push for the win now, especially as India will be batting last.

Whatever it takes!!!
But he fields in the slips in ODIs..fantastic in that position.
yes but he also wants to continue at gully as that is his long time station in this test team.. Ditto with Gambhir at Short leg... They don't want to move to a different area as a stop-gap arrangement, I guess.

So we are left with Yuvi.. :(

I said that Sehwag prefers gully (because he usually fields there), not that he's inferior to Yuvraj or Gambhir in the slips.
Laxman and Dravid are the best slip fielders in India, then there is Sehwag and then Sachin. When all four are available Sehwag fields in gully because Sachin prefers slips and he is no shoddy fielder himself so he, being senior, gets the slips.

Today Sehwag was at first slip (mostly) because being skipper, he would like to be in the best position to see what the bowler was doing.

Yuvraj's stiff hands as he grabbed at the ball were shocking. I am surprised that we dont have another player (besides the four mentioned) to stand in the slips if needed. We have earlier seen Kaif being put in the lips a year and a half ago and make a complete idiot of himself. Just goes to show that being the best fielder in the side doesn't mean anything in the slips. It does come very fast and so suddenly, one needs to work at it to specialise.

Gambhir and Yuvraj should bothe make sure they are good enough to be put in the slips because they deserve to be not when they are much older and have to be hidden away from the bursts of speed and diving of the outfield..

Just watched the highlights. Some piss poor play from India, and some terrific batting by NZ, in particular Ryder. Taylor obviously rode his luck, but hey, good luck to him.

How on Earth Doctrove didn't pick up the edge from Franklin off Sharma I have no idea. Yuvraj dropping him the next over just made it even more annoying.

Too precious to even bend-down on some occasions
That was ****ing annoying.

I just watched the highlights of the day after my AFL team had just been pounded too, so I wasn't in a good mood. TV lucky to still be working I reckon.
