Not sure how I feel tbh, good to get Gambhir out, but it was Martin, the most over-rated bowler we've had since....I don't know.
Very harsh. Martin's been consistently the best of our seamers today, doing what he usually does. He's no world beater, but he bowls fast and accurately which you can't necessarily say for too many other bowlers in the side. I've been quitely pleased with how he's gone.

Nothing against him personally, i just have an irrational hatred of how people rate him as the be all end all of our seam attack. just like you and Greg Hay really. :p

Yeah! Br1ng In ThOmmo!!!
Yep :p

Nah I wouldn't want him in tests, he's only ever been an ODI prospect in my book.

Especially ones called Graeme Smith.

Perhaps we should ask Dravid and Tendulkar to bat the other way round?
I think that would be a good idea - basic good manners and sportsmanship if you ask me. In fact anything other than that would be quite selfish... Think of poor Yuvraj Singh, coming in at 6 - would he prefer to come in at 170/4, when he gets a real chance to make his mark and stamp his name on the series? Be a hero for his country. Or rather 500/4 when he gets no credit whatsoever for patting round an easy 50 of the demoralised and exhausted bowlers? Definitely the former if you ask me.

I hate to keep harping on about this, but Mills just looks so hittable. Not a test player.

Agree with you in general - have thought for the last few years that Mills is a direct swap for Franklin between ODI and tests.

But supported Mills being picked for this test. Partly because there aren't many other options, but he has shown promise at times (struggle to think of anything other than the spell against England where he took 4 wickets and we won) and was nothing short of brilliant in the Aus ODI series. It's a pity he hasn't been in form since the injury, as should have performed a lot better than he has so far. At least could have bowled tighter even if not taking wickets.

Also a pity that our current best seamer (O'B) hasn't been successful yet.

Good spells here from Vettori and O'Brien. Built up some pressure. Dont know if bringing Franklin back in is the right thing, unless it makes Tendulkar or Laxman loosesn up a little and get themselves out.
