right, now we must be close to breaking this 4 man attack. get the lead to 200 and see how they react.
Yeah that's always given a glimmer of hope - that it's a four man attack with aging Khan having bowled 38 overs and no doubt feeling it and Jadeja who shouldn't really be too threatening. Shami has bowled 34 and Sharma in his 32nd - it'll be nice when we can look at the scorecard and see they've both bowled 40.

They'll get an energy boost when the third new ball is taken but if we could see that off then I'd expect even our tail to hang around.

i reckon this fightback, win or lose, could only have happened after a few home test wins this summer and especially Eden Park.

Is there enough in this wicket for the Kiwis to bowl them out? Would just ****ing love to see them pull this off........great stuff!!
Probably not enough in the wicket unless India panic, though there might be some light rain overnight and in the morning that could freshen things up a little.

Was wondering when the first mention of this would be... always a curse every time an NZer makes 200. McCullum's other doubles have ended in the nervous 220s .
The difference is that this time there's absolutely no motivation for Baz to hit out. He can literally bat all of tomorrow if he wants.

watling seems to get the tail to bat above themselves so when the time comes i'd prefer he be there to guide them through after baz gets out hit wicket laughing for a billion

Ha, and the Cricinfo commentary on the last wicket reads "innings win in sight for India".

Could always give Latham the gloves for an hour or so. He's safe enough, right?
There's a lot of diving takes with Latham, but yeah he is very athletic and no bad drops I can recall. Not a very safe keeper to spin.

Yeah, Ashwin is probably a fair enough call actually. He at least theoretically offers more though, through his variety.

Wonder if Ojha will ever play an overseas test.

Gee thanks, CricketWeb. "Safe money" on India at $1.35 has turned into a stub to almost chuck in the bin at $4.50.
