Yeah but lately that seems to mean he gets to 30(48). Should be 40(48). He's just not doing that job very well. His ability to increase the scoring and his intent to do so has changed.
He now sees his role as setting a launch pad for the power hitters down the order, rather than being one of them.
Exactly! "I like this Trent Boult - he reminds me of Andrew Penn."Williamson has more talent in his little finger than Shane Thomson.
If he could do both he'd be up there with Kohli and ABdV. It's pretty difficult IMO.Yeah but lately that seems to mean he gets to 30(48). Should be 40(48). He's just not doing that job very well.
Also, a player of his ability should be able to play to the situation and actually exploit his talents. One of the game's gun 6-hitters seems to have psyched himself out of being able to successfully execute big shots to some extent.
Penn was extremely unlucky to not get a test, irregardless of his nightmare performances in ODI cricket. Having faced him and talked to many other cricketers that were at first class level during the late nineties and early thousands, he was easily the hardest to face bowler in New Zealand until arguably Shane Bond started his rise. He was brisk, could move it on a string, never really let up and would quite comfortably bowl twelve to fifteen over spells without the pace dropping.Exactly! He's not as good as them but he's better than this. Prior to his change of approach Taylor was the kind of ODI batsman who scored at a decent clip from the start while also averaging around 40 i.e. basically just a good ODI batsman. If he could do both he'd be up there with Kohli and ABdV. It's pretty difficult IMO.
Whoops, not a good example, then! Haha. Should have picked one of the numerous other international failures we've had.Penn was extremely unlucky to not get a test, irregardless of his nightmare performances in ODI cricket. One of the lost generation to NZ cricket of that era in my view.
It's gonna suck for India if Ishant doesn't get to finish his spell at the death as well. Counting on the NZ batsmen to hit him out of selection.ugh, it will really suck if we lose overs given:
a) how crap India is at the death (Ishant still has 5 overs to bowl, ffs)
b) how small the boundaries are
c) how our whole game plan revolves around McCullum, Anderson and Ronchi hitting out at the end.
16 overs remain. Shami has 6, Kumar has 5, Ash has 3, Jadeja has 3. Dhoni doesn't even have to bowl Ishant.ugh, it will really suck if we lose overs given:

I thought he was pursuing a thesbian lifestyle in the UK?Any discussion with Jeremy Coney is interesting. It's a crime that he doesn't have the top commentary job in the Sky Cricket commentary team.
planning on bowling spin through the power play as well as the death? not going to happen IMO.16 overs remain. Shami has 6, Kumar has 4, Ash has 3, Jadeja has 3. Dhoni doesn't even have to bowl Ishant.
He was superb, probably a 140kph bowler on his day, formed a pretty good bowling unit there for CD for quite a while.Whoops, not a good example, then! Haha. Should have picked one of the numerous other international failures we've had.
Must admit I saw very little of Penn - went to maybe three one-day domestic games he played in, and he was poor in all of them. So I assumed from that and his dismal ODI efforts that he wasn't much good. His stats do look pretty exceptional, to be fair! Shame it didn't work out for him internationally.
Would rather hope for top edged catching chances off slogs than wickets or dots out of Ishame Sharma.planning on bowling spin through the power play as well as the death? not going to happen IMO.
Yeah because doing odd-job commentary work for Radio Sport pays peanuts. I imagine he could be persuaded to take up the gig full-time if he was picking up Ian Smith's pay packet.I thought he was pursuing a thesbian lifestyle in the UK?
(i know it's a p)
I'm not sure what Jeremy would do with 40,000 pies per year.I imagine he could be persuaded to take up the gig full-time if he was picking up Ian Smith's pay packet.
looking at the rain radar, there might be a bit more on the way.Wow, no overs lost.
