***Official*** India in New Zealand 2013/14

Wasn't implying he was mentally weak at all, just that poor shots plus his Flemingesque conversion rate show that he's not the finished product yet
Fair enough. He shouldn't be batting enyway, fulton should still be there.
Wouldn't worry to much about a conversion rate at this point of his career. Hes a nz number 3 remember

Best conditions of the match for batting. No cloud cover, hardly any wind and looking at the pitch it has barely deteriorated at all. Runs are there to be had. Do NZ have the application?

I think a lot of us were hoping for a KW double ton
Even if KW did double-ton & NZ somehow got to 500, India will still have plenty of time to get the 250 or so required and the wicket is unlikely to deteriorate too much (plus we don't have a spinner anyway).

Looks like one of those stunning days in Wellington where you just wonder why anyone would live anywhere else.

I've been a critic of Rutherfords, but boy does he look majestic driving down the ground.

Zak! Bowled well this morning, has used the crease well has Zaheer, and mixed it up with a few knuckle balls as well, always wondered why he didn't use that ball as frequently given the success he had in the 2011 WC with it.

yup, there's the difference between Rutherford's defensive technique and Latham's. Latham gets in behind it properly rather that just pushing at it.

Why can't our guys have Dhoni's luck of playing and missing 20000 times before ever edging one? lol

So who to open on the tour of WI? Latham presumably will get one of the two spots, but do either of the other two deserve another go? And who would we replace them with if not?

Would personally prefer we retain Fulton and ask Rutherford to go and work on a few things.

Given that Guptill is apparently next in line, i'm not too confident in replacing both of them.
