Mate, if you honestly think NZ are still favourites, I suggest you put a few lazy dollars on them because here's the latest from oddschecker. You guys are weird.
NZ still well on top.
1, 2 wickets before the new ball and the game is over.
227 runs still needed, 8 wickets in hand.Mate, if you honestly think NZ are still favourites, I suggest you put a few lazy dollars on them because here's the latest from oddschecker.
India $2.25
New Zealand $2.75
Draw $201
Edit, ^ beaten to the punch.
They've scored about 200 already for only the loss of 2 wickets, our bowlers are more tired. The sun is up and bright and the ball won't swing as much when we get it in like 30 overs time.227 runs still needed, 8 wickets in hand.
Just need Boult to find his line and length and they won't get close.
Do did see how many runs Williamson aka the best spinner in the country went for right? He'd do a better job than this ****.
I've seen it countless times as well. I guess the genuine improvements I've seen in the last few months lead to me to believe we'd put a bit of this stuff behind us.Seriously? I'm not sure how anyone who's watched a lot of NZ over the years could say that? Of the top of my head I can think of 5-6 occasions in which we've blown massive leads in the 3rd innings and then failed to bowl sides out chasing relatively high totals. Cynical as it sounds, when we were 2-down early yesterday I sent a text to a mate saying we'll be rolled for 100 and India will win by 5 wickets. Should have put my money where my mouth is.
Honestly don't see us getting any more than 2 further wickets today, but time will tell and obviously hoping I'm wrong. Just can't see we're they'll come from at the moment with the pitch looking as good as it does. Southee looks the most likely, but I thought we lost it a little bit when he started bowling too much on middle & leg to Kohli. Boult doesn't appear to be swinging it and seems to be struggling with rhythm. Wagner is Wagner and whilst he might get the odd bonus wicket, he'll likely give his usual number of freebies away. Anderson looks very very innocuous and the less Sodhi bowls, the better.227 runs still needed, 8 wickets in hand.
Just need Boult to find his line and length and they won't get close.
I just don't get it. It's not like he's been ripping it past the bat or looking anything other than cannon-fodder against these blokes. 223 to win will very quickly become 180 after another 4 overs of Sodhi.Oh boy Sodhi. This could be genius or tragic.
Sorry, so you're saying you're entirely surprised now ?I've seen it countless times as well. I guess the genuine improvements I've seen in the last few months lead to me to believe we'd put a bit of this stuff behind us.
I wasn't panicking when we collapsed in the second innings, but I wasn't entirely comfortable with 400. Seems pessimistic but you'd be incredibly naive to think India were going to roll over and die. These are good batting conditions, and these are quality batsmen. They survive Southee/Boult, and there's an opportunity there to exploit Anderson/Sodhi/Williamson later on. That's what they have started to do with Ish's bowling. 227 to score on this pitch, with eight wickets left isn't all that tough. We're still very much in this, but we somehow need to stop the flow of runs significantly until the new ball arrives. 5 an over in the last 10 is killing us at the moment. We won't have enough runs to play with.
