There is no point Mr. Dhoni coming so late after all your top order has crapped big time already. Bat higher up the order.

PS. And opt to bat forst next time. This is not subcontinent where chasing 300+ is a walk in the park for your team.

Windmill can't play test cricket - he's panting and puffing after five overs. He's not going to be able to bowl the sustained spells in test that he'll need to bowl.

He's bowled a lot of overs for Canterbury this season.

What are your thoughts on Rahane? I feel if he loses out on an India cap because of another short, but poor, run, it will be tragic. He's one of the more genuinely talented players we've seen playing for India, and has a solid Ranji/Duleep record behind him, but he's got very few chances across his career- compare his grand total of 21 games over three years with Jadeja's 31 straight games in a year. If Rahane was given the unquestioned run in the side that Raina or Jadeja or at least Ishant Sharma got, it would be good.

I hope the Indians don't lose Varun Aaron on account of this game. He's shown a lot more fight than Ishant, who's been sleepwalking, and has taken risks, unlike the spinners, and more power than Bucky. A few run-outs off his bowling were missed and the batsmen cashed in. Seeing how some talentless players get loads of chances by being in Dhoni's inner circle, Aaron and Shami are definitely worth a longer run. Not that there's anything wrong with Pandey, but there's no need to discard Aaron so quickly.

Repeated hammerings on flat decks seem to have taken their toll on the Indian bowlers, who seem to go pale each time they're on a pitch that doesn't aid them fully, and they're taken apart by the batting sides. They need to change the way they bowl on pitches that don't help them. Dhoni's also partly responsible for the bowlers' poor form, going by the excuses he keeps offering, and doing nothing to help them out or phase them out if they don't help out.

Yeah was wondering that. NZ need to get another 8 overs out of him and the other part timers, and you don't want them bowling at the death.

As long as Dhoni is there India has a chance.

I can see him making this painful for NZ supporters.

Dhoni should just **** with McCullums bowling plans and take the PP in a couple of overs. 7 overs still to be bowled from Williamson and McCullum.
