don't have the footage to back me up but can we attribute anderson's recent decline in ****ing ****s up to bowling about a foot too short on average for a while now?

his ability to bowl nice lines and lengths is what helped him become a world class bowler, but anderson of 2011 was not one to bowl this short with the new ball ever.

Warne making a good point about using the crease. Siddle did it well in the Ashes series iirc

Of current bowlers, I'd select the four-some of Steyn, Johnson, Philander & Southee on this deck, with the clear instruction to Johnson to bowl a fuller length than usual. Harris would be on standby.

It's the sheer ****eness of England that makes us completely unwatchable nowadays. Moores might as well have gone the whole hog and brought in Glen Chapple for one of these guys.

And I know it's been said before, but the captain's an idiot. Why the hell is Anderson still on after an hour and a quarter? If Stokes is deemed good enough to be in the side, he needs to bowl before the ball's softened.

India doing exceedingly well to be just 1 down after 16 overs here, must be said. Cook & England's bowlers doing exceedingly well in allowing them to.

Yay, Stokes outdoing the other bowlers so far. He managed to bowl 2 full ones in the over.

philander plays cricket by teleporting his opponents into ricky ponting cricket 2005. it's not a fair comparison.
Even so, on this pitch, Philander would pretty much rip the opposition a new one. A much larger one than he usually does. He'd do the exact thing the England bowlers aren't doing... Make the batsmen play almost every ball.

We've barely looked like taking one in the last hour or so. The batsmen are now set, and the bowlers still can't locate where to pitch the ball.

EDIT
Rare exception from Plunkett there. But any bowlers worthy of the name would be pitching it there 3 or 4 times an over.
